Role Summary

The FP&A Analyst will be a key member of the Small Data delivery team, responsible for providing the data-driven insights that steer our customers business decision engine and strategy. You will move beyond basic reporting to perform trend analysis, budgeting, and forecasting, helping leadership understand the why behind the numbers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of the monthly, quarterly and annual forecast in coordination with the data science team.
  • Variance Analysis: Compare forecasted and actual KPIs; identify key drivers of variances and communicate risks or opportunities to client management.
  • Financial Modeling: Build and maintain complex financial models to support what-if scenarios, capital allocation, and new business initiatives.
  • Reporting: Design and generate monthly CXO-ready reporting packages that highlight Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for their respective functions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced Excel skills are non-negotiable (look for mastery of Power Query, Pivot Tables, and complex nested formulas). Familiarity with modern data science tools like SQL and Power BI and/or data platforms will be an added advantage.
  • Analytical Rigor: Ability to synthesize large datasets into actionable summaries (data in data out philosophy to data in story out philosophy).
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication skillsthe ability to explain financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders is crucial.
  • Hybrid Thinking: Ability to balance hard data with human constraints and arrive at actionable insights.

Desired Past Experience

  • Consulting Environment: Prior experience in consulting firms or in an internal consulting capacity exhibiting potential to convert data points to business stories.
  • C-Suite Relationships: Prior experience in working with CXOs of Small and Medium Businesses (SMBs).
  • North America Workstyle: Prior experience or potential working with North American stakeholders (in terms of timing, language, work style & communication).
