Job Description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a FP&A O&G ARC Controller, North Sea based in India.

This role sits within a global finance environment, focused on delivering high-quality financial control, reporting, and performance management for upstream oil and gas operations. You will play a key part in ensuring the integrity of financial statements under IFRS and internal accounting policies while supporting business decision-making through robust analysis. The position combines controllership and FP&A responsibilities, requiring strong cross-functional collaboration with business, accounting, and technology teams across regions. You will contribute to quarterly close cycles, statutory reporting, and governance processes while ensuring compliance and control effectiveness. Operating in a hybrid, globally connected setup, the role offers exposure to international stakeholders, including European and UK time zones. Accountabilities

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and effective performance management across the assigned entity, while supporting both operational and strategic finance activities. You will contribute directly to the integrity of financial outcomes and compliance with global accounting standards.

  • Record-to-report controllership, including leading quarterly close processes and ensuring accurate and complete financial reporting in line with IFRS and internal policies
  • Ownership of due diligence and internal controls, ensuring compliance, accuracy of actuals, and effective coordination with finance and business stakeholders
  • Preparation and support of statutory reporting activities including annual reports, ESG disclosures, stock exchange announcements, and representation letters
  • Delivery of variance analysis and financial insights to support quarterly reviews and performance management cycles
  • Collaboration with business, FP&A, and audit teams to identify issues early, strengthen controls, and support audit requirements
  • Contribution to governance, risk management, and continuous improvement of accounting and reporting processes

Requirements

The ideal candidate brings deep experience in finance controllership and FP&A within complex, multi-entity environments, along with strong technical accounting expertise and stakeholder management capabilities.

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master's degree preferred) along with professional qualifications such as ACCA, ACA, or CIMA
  • Minimum 12 years of relevant post-qualification experience across accounting, reporting, FP&A, and controllership functions
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting standards, internal controls, and business process governance
  • Hands-on experience with financial systems such as SAP, Microsoft tools, and visualization platforms like Power BI
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and deliver actionable insights
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with experience working across global, cross-functional teams
  • Strong mindset for continuous improvement, risk awareness, and process optimization
