Job Summary
As an FP&A Control Advisor at BP PLC, you will play a critical role in supporting sound financial decision-making and performance management within the organization. You will use your analytical and commercial expertise to provide insightful financial analysis, contribute to integrated planning, and ensure robust control over financial performance.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis and modelling to support critical initiatives, investment decisions, and operational performance reviews.
- Develop and maintain financial models, forecasts, and budgets, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business objectives.
- Apply data visualization and interpretation techniques to present complex financial information clearly and concisely to diverse partners.
- Contribute to integrated planning processes, collaborating with various business units to ensure financial plans are robust and achievable.
- Monitor and analyze commercial performance, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide insightful commercial acumen to challenge assumptions and drive value creation across the business.
- Lead and support investment appraisal activities, including financial due diligence and post-investment reviews.
- Implement and maintain effective performance management frameworks, tracking key financial metrics and driving accountability.
- Prepare and present financial reports, presentations, and commentaries to senior management, highlighting key insights and recommendations.
- Cultivate strong communication and collaboration with finance teams, business partners, and other internal stakeholders.
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience in a financial planning and analysis (FP&A) role, preferably within a large, complex organization.
- Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis and modelling, including advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
- Excellent commercial acumen and a deep understanding of business drivers and financial performance management.
- Proficiency in data visualization and interpretation tools and techniques.
- Experience with integrated planning processes and systems.
- Proven understanding of investment appraisal methodologies and principles.
- Proven ability to effectively communicate complex financial information, both verbally and in writing, to all levels of the organization.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; a professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, CIMA, ACCA) is highly desirable.
