This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Founding Tech Lead (Future CTO) in India.

This is a high-impact founding engineering role where you will define the technical foundation of an early-stage profitability intelligence platform. You will work directly with the founders to translate complex business and financial problems into scalable technical systems that power core product capabilities. The environment is fast-moving, ambiguous, and highly ownership-driven, requiring strong product thinking alongside deep engineering skills. You will design and build backend architecture, data pipelines, and integrations that form the backbone of the platform. This role is not about executing predefined specs but about shaping what gets built and why. It offers a rare opportunity to influence architecture, product direction, and company trajectory from day one, with a clear path toward a future CTO position.

Accountabilities

You will be responsible for defining and building the core technical architecture of the platform, ensuring it is scalable, secure, and aligned with long-term product vision. You will design backend systems, data models, and APIs that support analytics, reporting, and financial intelligence use cases.

  • Translate business problems into robust technical solutions in collaboration with founders
  • Design and implement scalable backend architecture and data-driven systems
  • Build and maintain integrations with financial, operational, and external API data sources
  • Develop reliable data pipelines supporting ETL, analytics, and reporting workflows
  • Make pragmatic decisions on scalability, performance, and security in early-stage conditions
  • Explore and integrate AI/ML capabilities where they meaningfully enhance the product
  • Ensure strong data handling practices, especially for sensitive financial information

Requirements

You should bring strong backend engineering experience combined with a builder mindset and the ability to operate in ambiguity. The ideal profile is comfortable owning systems end-to-end and making architectural decisions with incomplete information.

  • Proven experience building backend systems using modern software stacks
  • Strong understanding of APIs, databases, integrations, and system design principles
  • Experience working with data workflows such as ETL, analytics, or reporting systems
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • Strong problem-solving ability and systems thinking approach
  • Comfort working in early-stage, ambiguous environments with high ownership
  • Interest in AI/ML technologies (hands-on experience is a plus but not required)
  • Strong product intuition and ability to align technical decisions with business needs
