Founding Head of Technology - HoroCosmo App

Horocosmo is building a real-time consumer astrology platform focused on chat, voice consultations, personalized user journeys, and transaction-heavy monetization systems.

We are hiring a Founding Head of Technology who can own end-to-end engineering across backend, mobile, web, infrastructure, reliability, and scale.

This is not a manager-only role.

We are looking for someone who can architect systems, solve hard technical problems, ship fast, improve stability, and build a strong engineering team from the ground up.

What you will own

- End-to-end platform architecture across backend, mobile apps, web, admin, and infrastructure

- Real-time chat, voice, and consultation systems with low latency and high reliability

- Payment, wallet, refunds, reconciliation, subscription, and usage-based billing systems

- App stability, release velocity, crash reduction, ANR improvement, API performance, and production uptime

- Scalable backend systems for high traffic, high concurrency, and future product expansion

- Monitoring, logging, CI/CD, alerting, incident response, and production reliability

- Hiring and leading backend, frontend, mobile, QA, and DevOps talent

- Close collaboration with founders, product, and business teams to turn growth goals into strong engineering execution

What we need

- 8 to 15+ years of software engineering experience with strong ownership in production systems

- Proven experience building and scaling high-traffic consumer internet, marketplace, fintech, consultation, on-demand, or service platforms

- Strong hands-on experience with real-time chat, communication systems, or live session infrastructure

- Experience with voice / RTC / call systems such as WebRTC, Twilio, Agora, Exotel, or similar

- Experience with payment gateways, wallet systems, refunds, webhooks, reconciliation, subscriptions, and transaction accuracy

- Strong backend architecture and cloud infrastructure experience

- Strong understanding of uptime, fault tolerance, scalability, monitoring, and engineering execution under pressure

- Comfortable in a fast-moving startup environment with high accountability

Preferred

- Startup scaling experience from 0 to 1 or 1 to 10

- Experience in real-time consumer products, marketplaces, live commerce, fintech, or service platforms

- Strong understanding of app performance optimization, crash reduction, and release quality

- Exposure to personalization, recommendation systems, matching engines, or AI integrations
