Founding AI Architect Spatiotemporal Intelligence & Logistics Forecasting

Dispatch Network is building an adaptive logistics intelligence platform a system that learns city dynamics in real time and optimizes how goods move through urban space. We're moving from pilot to national scale, and the AI layer you build here will shape how fleets behave across India's densest delivery environments.
Role Overview
We're looking for a Founding AI Architect with deep experience in temporal and spatial modeling to build the core AI systems powering forecasting, routing intelligence, and real-time decision making. This is a hands-on role at the intersection of machine learning, operations research, and high-scale systems.
Key Responsibilities
Spatiotemporal Modeling & Forecasting
- Design and implement advanced forecasting models for demand, supply, rider availability, and network load
- Build and refine temporal models (LSTMs, Transformers, diffusion-based predictors)
- Build spatial and spatiotemporal intelligence architectures (graph neural networks, grid/hex models, mobility prediction)
- Incorporate geospatial signals, city topology, traffic patterns, and historical behavior intopredictive models
Production ML Systems
- Build scalable training pipelines for large spatiotemporal datasets
- Deploy low-latency inference systems powering real-time decisions
- Implement model lifecycle systems: retraining, drift detection, evaluation, and automated improvement
- Integrate models tightly with APIs, cloud systems, and microservices
MLOps & Governance
- Establish rigorous workflows for experiment tracking, versioning, model lineage,performance monitoring
- Build tooling for error analysis, diagnostics, and continuous tuning
- Define metrics that reflect real operational constraints: SLA accuracy, supply-demand balance, idle km, prediction stability
Technical Leadership
- Define the AI roadmap for forecasting, routing intelligence, and spatial reasoning
- Hire, mentor, and grow a high-calibre ML team
- Work closely with product, engineering, and operations to translate messy real-world logistics into solvable modeling problems
- Communicate architectural and research decisions with clarity to founders and stakeholders
Experience
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years building and deploying ML systems in production
- Hands-on experience with temporal, spatial, or spatiotemporal models
- Proven ability to ship forecasting systems with real-world users
- Exposure to large-scale time-series pipelines or geospatial ML systems
Technical Skills
- Strong grounding in deep learning and classical ML
- Experience with spatial modeling (GNNs, H3/quadtrees, mobility models)
- Experience with high-resolution time-series forecasting
- Strong data engineering and pipeline building
- MLOps tooling: experiment tracking, CI/CD for models, monitoring
- Strong Python engineering fundamentals
- Cloud experience with distributed systems and APIs
Leadership
- Mentored ML/DS teams
- Can translate business constraints into modeling strategies
- Strong communication across technical & non-technical teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Work or research in spatiotemporal forecasting, mobility prediction, or network optimization
- Experience with simulation-driven modeling or digital twins
- Background in operations research or applied math
- Experience handling large geospatial datasets
- Open-source contributions in ML/infra
- Familiarity with urban mobility, logistics, or real-time systems
