Job Description

Founder's Office Intern — Humanoid Robotics

Location: Kolkata, India (On-site) | Full-time, 3–6 months | Monthly stipend with performance bonus.

At Unsupervized, we are building humanoid from the ground up — machines that move, sense, and act in the physical world. This is among the hardest and most rewarding problems in engineering today, and it sits at the intersection of mechanical design, electrical systems, electronics, and software.

We are inviting a sharp, curious, and technically grounded individual to join our Founder's Office. This is not a conventional internship. You will work shoulder-to-shoulder with the founder on the problems that matter most — moving fluidly between the workshop floor, the drawing board, and the strategy table. If you want to understand how a deep-technology company is actually built, this is a rare seat from which to see it.

What You'll Do

  • Work directly with the founder on high-priority technical and operational initiatives across the company.
  • Translate between disciplines — helping mechanical, electrical, and electronics workstreams stay aligned as the robot comes together.
  • Support research, vendor evaluation, and component sourcing for actuators, sensors, power systems, and structural assemblies.
  • Prepare technical documentation, internal briefs, and presentations for partners, investors, and the team.
  • Track progress across engineering milestones and help remove blockers before they slow the team down.
  • Take ownership of ambiguous problems where the path forward isn't yet defined.

What We're Looking For

Robotics is inherently multidisciplinary, and we expect you to be comfortable across its core domains. The ideal candidate brings:

  • A working understanding of Mechanical Engineering — kinematics, actuation, materials, and mechanical assemblies.
  • A working understanding of Electrical Engineering — power systems, motor drives, batteries, and wiring.
  • A working understanding of Electronics Engineering — microcontrollers, sensors, PCBs, and embedded systems.
  • The ability to reason across these fields rather than in isolation, and to learn quickly where knowledge is thin.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, structured thinking, and genuine ownership.
  • High agency: the instinct to figure things out, take initiative, and follow through without being asked twice.

You do not need to be an expert in all three. You do need the curiosity and aptitude to engage seriously with each.

Nice to Have

  • Hands-on experience from a robotics club, competition (e.g., Robocon), or personal build project.
  • Familiarity with CAD (SolidWorks, Fusion 360), basic programming (Python / C++), or simulation tools.
  • A degree or ongoing studies in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.

What You'll Gain

  • Direct mentorship and proximity to the founder and the decisions that shape the company.
  • A front-row view of how a humanoid robotics venture is built — technically and operationally.
  • The chance to do work that is real, visible, and consequential from day one.
