Job Description

About Benghaul Mobility

Benghaul Mobility is a Kolkata-based B2B fleet leasing company. We own and finance electric two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and commercial cold-chain vehicles and deploy them through strategic partners who manage rider operations and downstream delivery networks servicing companies like Amazon, Rapido, Flipkart, and Uber. Founded in April 2025, our operations span two-wheelers, three-wheelers and cold-chain vehicles deployed across logistics networks. The company is in its early build phase. Every process, system, and partnership is being constructed from scratch. You will be joining at the ground floor.

About the Role

This internship is a working role in the Founder's Office, not a shadowing or observation internship. You will handle core operational and administrative tasks that directly affect fleet uptime, revenue tracking, and partner relationships. You will report to the founder, participate in operational decision-making, and see how early-stage logistics decisions translate into financial outcomes. The six-day schedule reflects the operational reality of logistics. Delivery networks don't pause on Saturdays.

What You Will Do

  • Fleet Tracking & Deployment: Own the daily fleet tracker. Log which vehicles are deployed, which are idle, and which are in maintenance. This data drives redeployment decisions and directly affects revenue per vehicle.
  • Invoicing & Payment Follow-Up: Prepare monthly invoices for B2B clients via Zoho Books, reconcile payments received, and flag overdue accounts. Accuracy here feeds directly into cash flow management.
  • Vehicle Documentation: Maintain a centralised record of insurance policies, registration certificates, fitness certificates, and service histories for every vehicle in the fleet. Ensure no document lapses go unnoticed.
  • Vendor & Service Partner Coordination: Liaise with mechanics, OEM service centres, insurance agents, and spare-parts vendors. Schedule servicing, obtain quotes, track turnaround times, and escalate delays.
  • Operations Dashboards & Reporting: Build and maintain internal dashboards (Google Sheets / Excel) that track key metrics: fleet utilisation, downtime percentage, revenue per vehicle, and maintenance costs. Present weekly summaries to the founder.
  • New Vehicle Onboarding: Support the end-to-end process when a new vehicle enters the fleet, from documentation and registration to partner allocation and first deployment.
  • Compliance Support: Assist with tracking renewal dates for shop & establishment licences, trade licences, and professional tax registration. Help maintain the company's compliance calendar.

What We are Looking For

Must-Have

  • Recent graduate or final-year student in B.Com, BBA, logistics, or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency in Google Sheets or Excel beyond basic data entry. You should be comfortable with formulas (VLOOKUP, SUMIFS), conditional formatting, and building simple trackers from scratch.
  • Strong attention to detail. You will handle financial data and legal documents where errors have real consequences.
  • Reliable follow-through. When you are asked to chase a vendor or flag a lapsed insurance policy, it gets done without a second reminder.
  • Comfort working across contexts. You will interact with mechanics and delivery riders as well as the founder and B2B clients. Adaptability in communication style matters.

Nice-to-Have

  • Prior exposure to logistics, supply chain, or fleet operations (academic or professional).
  • Familiarity with invoicing or accounting tools (Zoho Books, Tally, or similar).
  • Working knowledge of Hindi and/or Bengali for vendor and rider communication.
  • Interest in the EV transition in Indian logistics. Benghaul's fleet includes electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers.

What You Will Gain

  • Direct founder access and mentorship. Understand how an asset-backed logistics business is built from the ground up.
  • Hands-on exposure to fleet economics: vehicle-level P&L, EMI structures, depreciation, and asset lifecycle management across 2W, 3W, and 4W asset classes.
  • Experience building operational systems, trackers, and SOPs that will scale as the company grows from 35 vehicles toward 300+.
  • Real exposure to B2B contract operations, partner management, and the mechanics of sub-leasing in last-mile delivery.
  • A substantive reference and, for high performers, a pathway to a full-time operations role.

High-performing interns may be offered a full-time position at the end of the internship, subject to performance evaluation and the candidate's availability (i.e., completion of or flexibility around ongoing academic commitments).

Performance criteria include accuracy and timeliness of fleet tracker updates, invoice error rate, vendor follow-up closure rate, and quality of weekly dashboards. Specific targets will be set at the end of Month 1.
