Job Description
About Orunbase
Orunbase is a developer portal for platform discipline. We help engineering teams ship software that is well-structured, secure and maintainable from day one, with golden paths, guardrails and living documentation built into how they work.
About the Role
As a Forward Deployed Platform Engineer, you'll work most closely with our partners, the IT services and consulting firms in our partner program. You'll embed with their engineering teams, help them run client projects through our process, and make sure what they deliver holds up in production.
You'll also own and evolve the baselines at the core of the program. That includes maintaining Orunbase-managed baselines, helping partners build baselines that reflect their own practices, and contributing new ones as partners take on new kinds of projects.
Key Responsibilities
Partner enablement and delivery
Work alongside partner engineers to take client projects from kickoff to production using our delivery process
Stand up client workspaces, including environments, CI/CD, secrets management, database migrations, and promotion from staging to production
Set up observability and operational foundations so partners can confidently run what they deliver
Support partners through maintenance and ongoing development of delivered products
Baselines
Maintain and improve Orunbase-managed baselines, keeping them versioned, tested and current
Help partners turn their own engineering practices into baselines that can bootstrap new client workspaces
Contribute to building new baselines as partner needs grow
Production readiness and migrations
Help teams take applications built on AI app builders such as Lovable, Emergent and Base44 through to production, without rewriting them
Rework generated schemas into proper multi-tenant models, replace placeholder auth with real identity and permissions, and move applications onto maintainable pipelines
Automation and feedback
Build tooling and agent skills that make each engagement faster than the last
Identify repeated work across clients and turn it into automated processes
Bring field insights back to the product team so we build what partners actually need
About the Partner Program
Our partner program works with IT services and consulting firms that build SaaS products for multiple clients. These firms face a familiar problem. Every new client project starts from scratch, quality depends on who happens to be staffed on it, and the same setup work gets repeated again and again.
We work alongside our partners to change that. Through the program, we provide:
Solutions guidance from our platform and SaaS engineering experience, so partners deliver products their clients can rely on
Baselines: production-ready SaaS starter kits that let a partner kick off a new client project in days rather than weeks, with quality standards already built in
A delivery process that uses agentic development to move faster while keeping quality enforced, not optional
Automation that removes duplicated work across clients, so each new project benefits from everything learned on the last one
Ongoing support for delivered products as they move into maintenance and continued development
This is how successful IT services companies scale: they deliver consistently, reuse what works, and spend their engineering effort on what's unique to each client. The program is already running with active partners, and we're growing the team that delivers it.
What We're Looking For
Around 6 years of experience in DevOps, SRE or platform engineering, though what you've built matters more to us than the number
Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, environment and secrets management, and running database migrations safely
A solid understanding of SaaS architecture: tenant isolation and where it can leak, where authorisation belongs, how metering and billing tie to usage, and what a good audit trail looks like
The ability to look at a system and see what will cause problems a year from now
Comfort reading and writing TypeScript, including code that was generated rather than handwritten
Experience working directly with customers or client teams, including the occasional difficult conversation
Clear written communication, since much of this role involves documentation and handover
Nice to Have
Experience with agentic development workflows or building agent skills
Prior experience building starter kits, templates or internal platforms used by multiple teams
Background in an IT services or consulting environment
What We Offer
Meaningful equity in an early-stage company
High ownership, with direct influence on how the partner program and product evolve
Work across a range of client projects and technical problems
Flexible working, with some travel to partner offices in Kerala and occasional calls at European hours
How to Apply
Send us something you've built, such as a platform, a starter kit, or a migration you've led, along with a few lines about it. We'd genuinely rather see your work than a CV.
