Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE)

About the Role

GatewAI is building a team of Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) in Bangalore to work on a high-impact technology initiative with a leading US global enterprise.

Forward Deployed Engineering sits at the intersection of Engineering, AI, Product, Customer, and Business. This role is for engineers who enjoy solving complex, real-world problems, working with stakeholders, and taking solutions from idea to production.

As an FDE, you will go beyond traditional software development. You will understand the problem, identify the right technology approach, build and test solutions quickly, and work closely with teams to drive measurable business impact.

What You'll Do

• Translate complex business and customer problems into scalable technology solutions.
• Work closely with product, engineering, business, and customer stakeholders.
• Build rapid prototypes, validate ideas, and take successful solutions into production.
• Leverage AI/GenAI, APIs, data, cloud technologies, and modern engineering tools.
• Design and implement integrations across systems, platforms, and data sources.
• Navigate ambiguity and independently identify practical solutions.
• Understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Own solutions end-to-end, from problem discovery through deployment and iteration.
• Continuously experiment, learn new technologies, and improve existing solutions.
• Focus on measurable outcomes and business impact—not just technical implementation.

Key Skills & Experience

Total: 7 Yrs Relevant: 1-2 Yrs

• Strong software or technology engineering background.
• Experience building and deploying technology solutions.
• Strong programming and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of APIs, integrations, data, and cloud technologies.
• Exposure to AI/GenAI and modern development tools is highly valuable.
• Ability to work across technical and business teams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Comfortable working independently in ambiguous problem spaces.
• Strong ownership mindset with a focus on outcomes.
