Role Overview
We are looking for a highly driven and execution focused Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to work closely with enterprise clients, internal engineering teams, and leadership to solve real-world deployment and product challenges. As an FDE at AutoVRse, you will act as the bridge between clients and engineering — understanding operational requirements, identifying technical gaps, deploying solutions on-site, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring successful implementation of XR products. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working across technology, problem-solving, product thinking, client interaction, and deployment operations in fast-paced environments.
You will be expected to operate with high ownership, adaptability, and strong technical fundamentals while collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with enterprise clients to understand deployment requirements, operational workflows, and technical challenges.
- Support deployment, integration, and implementation of AutoVRse XR solutions at client locations.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Design, and QA teams to communicate client feedback and drive rapid issue resolution.
- Troubleshoot technical issues across hardware, software, networking, and deployment environments.
- Configure, test, and optimize VR/AR applications for enterprise deployments.
- Assist in creating deployment documentation, workflows, technical SOPs, and client-facing technical guides.
- Participate in client demos, onboarding sessions, pilot implementations, and production rollouts.
- Identify bottlenecks, usability gaps, and operational inefficiencies during deployments and proactively propose solutions.
- Support field testing and real-time debugging during enterprise implementations.
- Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure successful delivery timelines.
- Maintain high responsiveness and ownership during critical deployments.
- Travel to client locations whenever required.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong understanding of Unity and C# fundamentals.
- Basic to intermediate understanding of XR technologies (VR/AR/MR).
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of software deployment workflows and production environments.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong ownership mindset and ability to work independently.
- Excellent coordination and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly in fast-paced and ambiguous environments.
- Comfortable working directly with enterprise clients.
- Good understanding of system performance, optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Strong collaboration and teamwork abilities.
- Additionally, the candidate should possess a good understanding of AI tools and emerging AI-driven workflows.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with Unity-based VR/AR projects.
- Familiarity with Meta Quest, HTC Vive, or other XR hardware ecosystems.
- Exposure to enterprise deployments or field implementation environments.
- Understanding of networking basics, device management, or deployment pipelines.
- Experience working on simulations, industrial training, or interactive applications.
- Exposure to agile/scrum workflows.
What We're Looking For
- This role requires the candidate to work primarily from the factory/client location.
- There is a high probability that the deployment location will be Salem for the next 3–6 months; therefore, we would prefer candidates based in or around nearby locations, preferably with proficiency in the local language.
- High ownership and accountability.
- Strong learning mindset.
- Ability to thrive under pressure and solve problems quickly.
- Curiosity toward emerging technologies and immersive experiences.
- Excellent communication and proficiency in the local language is non-negotiable along with collaboration skills.
- Someone who can balance technical execution with client-facing responsibilities.
- Preference will be given to candidates graduating from reputed engineering colleges in Coimbatore or Chennai.
