Forward Deployed Engineer
About the role
DoubleTick.io, an award-winning conversational CX stack, is looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer to own and scale our paid acquisition and demand-generation engine.
This role is ideal for someone who combines strong performance marketing expertise with a sharp understanding of B2B SaaS funnels and can translate marketing investments into qualified leads, pipeline, and revenue.
Key Responsibilities
- Work directly with customers to understand their business requirements, workflows, and technical challenges.
- Translate customer requirements into scalable and practical technical solutions.
- Design, develop, test, and deploy customer-specific solutions.
- Build and integrate REST APIs, webhooks, third-party APIs, and external systems.
- Configure and deploy AI-powered conversational workflows based on customer use cases.
- Work with prompts, intent detection, business logic, APIs, and data flows to optimize AI solutions.
- Troubleshoot integration, deployment, and production issues and drive them to resolution.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, QA, and Customer Success teams.
- Participate in customer calls and provide technical guidance throughout the implementation lifecycle.
- Own deployments end-to-end, from requirement gathering and solution design to testing and go-live.
- Identify recurring customer requirements and suggest product improvements or reusable solutions.
- Monitor deployed solutions and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
- Create technical documentation for integrations, workflows, configurations, and deployment processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in software engineering, implementation engineering, solutions engineering, technical consulting, or a similar role.
- Strong programming experience in JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or Node.js.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON, webhooks, API integrations, and authentication mechanisms.
- Experience working with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.
- Good understanding of software development and debugging practices.
- Experience working with Git and basic development workflows.
- Ability to understand business requirements and convert them into technical solutions.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Comfortable working directly with customers and explaining technical concepts in a simple manner.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects from start to finish.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Good To Have
- Experience working with AI/LLM-based applications, conversational AI, or chatbots.
- Experience with WhatsApp Business APIs, Voice APIs, or communication platforms.
- Familiarity with prompt engineering, LLM APIs, intent classification, RAG, or AI agents.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS/GCP/Azure.
- Familiarity with Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience working in a SaaS, B2B, or startup environment.
- Prior experience in a customer-facing technical role.
