Formwork InCharge HighRise Residential Buildings (MIVAN & Conventional Formwork) 512 Years Experience
The Formwork InCharge is responsible for planning, managing, and overseeing all formwork operations in a highrise residential building project. The role requires strong expertise in
MIVAN Aluminium Formwork, as well as working knowledge of
conventional, modular, and MS shuttering systems. The Formwork InCharge ensures structural accuracy, safety, quality, and timely completion of floor cycle targets.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities1. MIVAN Aluminium Formwork Management (Primary Responsibility)
- Lead and control the complete MIVAN formwork cycle, including:
- Shear walls
- Column & core walls
- Slabs & beams
- Staircases & landings
- Balconies and faade elements
- Prepare MIVAN shuttering layouts, cycle plans, and panel sequencing.
- Ensure correct alignment, level, plumb, and joint tightness before concreting.
- Monitor daily MIVAN cycle performance and take corrective actions for delays.
- Coordinate repair, maintenance, and safe handling of MIVAN panels to prolong lifespan.
2. Management of Other Formwork Systems (Secondary Responsibility)
- Oversee conventional formworkfor:
- Basements
- Podiums
- Ramps & retaining walls
- Lift machine rooms
- Terrace structures
- Manage MS shuttering, plywood formwork, modular systems, and cuplock scaffolding.
- Plan work for areas where MIVAN and conventional systems interface.
3. Technical Planning, Sequencing & Coordination
- Develop daily/weekly/monthly formwork work fronts with the Planning and Structure teams.
- Coordinate with reinforcement, MEP, and concrete teams to eliminate rework or delays.
- Ensure all MEP sleeves, conduits, boxes, and inserts are fixed before shutter closure.
- Review and interpret structural drawings, GFCs, and MIVAN shop drawings accurately.
- Provide technical guidance to foremen, supervisors, and subcontractors.
4. Quality Assurance & Control
- Conduct prepour and postpour inspections, ensuring:
- Dimension accuracy
- Proper tierod spacing
- Adequate support and props
- Rigidity & stability of the shuttering
- Prevent defects such as:
- Honeycombing
- Leakage
- Bulging
- Blowouts
- Poor surface finish
- Ensure adherence to project specifications, method statements, and IS standards.
5. Safety Leadership
- Ensure total compliance with safety norms during:
- Panel lifting & shifting
- Shuttering erection and dismantling
- Working at height
- Scaffold and platform use
- Conduct regular toolbox talks with teams.
- Immediately address unsafe acts or site hazards.
6. Material, Inventory & Resource Management
- Maintain updated records of:
- MIVAN panels and accessories
- Props, soldiers, beams
- Pins, wedges, wall ties
- Scaffolding materials
- Plan material movement between floors to optimize cycle times.
- Ensure cleaning, proper stacking, storage, and repair of formwork materials.
- Monitor material wastage and enforce preventive measures.
7. Team Leadership & Execution Management
- Lead teams of shuttering supervisors, foremen, carpenters, and helpers.
- Allocate daily tasks, monitor productivity, and ensure effective workforce utilization.
- Manage subcontractor performance and ensure compliance with quality and schedule.
8. Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare and maintain:
- Daily progress reports
- MIVAN cycle time reports
- Material movement logs
- Deshuttering logs
- Checklists and QA reports
- Report delays, constraints, and technical issues to the Project Manager/Construction Manager.
Qualifications & Skills
- B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
- 512 years of experience in formwork for highrise residential buildings.
- Minimum 5 years of mandatory handson experience in MIVAN Aluminium Formwork.
- Strong understanding of:
- MIVAN shop drawings & pour sequencing
- Structural drawings and specifications
- Conventional & modular formwork systems
- Formwork safety practices
- Excellent leadership, coordination, communication, and troubleshooting skills.
