What you can expect:
Preferred by Nature is looking for a Supply Chain Specialist to support and grow our supply chain certification services in India. You will conduct FSC Chain of Custody and Controlled Wood audits, manage client portfolios, and coordinate certification projects from planning to completion. Working closely with clients and internal teams, you will help ensure credible certification services that support responsible forest product supply chains and contribute to better outcomes for people, nature, and climate.
Working with us is never routine so the first year you can expect the following areas to be central to your work.
- Conduct FSC Chain of Custody and Controlled Wood audits, both on site and remotely
- Manage audit logistics, scheduling, and coordination of certification activities
- Maintain and grow relationships with assigned client portfolio
- Prepare high quality audit reports and ensure compliance with certification requirements
- Coordinate audit teams and contribute to quality control processes
- Support client inquiries related to certification standards and requirements
- Contribute to improving audit processes and service delivery
- Support implementation of new certification services where relevant
Your first year with us
Within three months, you will:
- Build understanding of Preferred by Nature's mission, certification services, and audit processes
- Shadow audits and support audit planning, logistics, and reporting
- Establish working relationships with team members and assigned clients
Within six months, you will:
- Lead selected audits independently including planning, execution, and reporting
- Manage audit scheduling and coordination for assigned clients
- Support quality control and client communication throughout audit processes
Within one year, you will:
- Manage a client portfolio independently from planning to delivery
- Act as Lead Auditor and Task Manager across multiple projects
- Contribute to service improvements and support regional certification activities
Important that you:
- Hold a Bachelor degree in forestry, environmental management, biology, geography, or related field
- Have 2 to 3 years of experience in the forest products or related industries
- Have strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Are able to manage multiple priorities independently and within a team
- Are willing to travel frequently, up to 70 percent of the time
- Maintain high professional integrity and customer service orientation
- Are motivated to contribute to Preferred by Nature's mission
Would also be great, but not necessary, if you:
- Have FSC Chain of Custody or Controlled Wood auditing experience
- Have environmental management system or ISO auditor training
- Have familiarity with sustainability certification standards
- Speak additional regional languages
