Description

In this role, you will conduct food safety compliance audits across Amazon India's fulfillment sites. You will identify non-compliances, track corrective actions to closure, and work closely with site operations teams to drive improvements on the ground. You'll play a hands-on role in maintaining regulatory standards (including FSSAI), supporting policy updates, and ensuring food products are stored, handled, and shipped safely to millions of customers.

Key job responsibilities

  • Conduct food safety compliance audits at sites using standardized checklists
  • Document findings, assign severity levels, and maintain accurate audit trackers and dashboards
  • Track open findings and drive corrective actions to closure within defined SLAs; escalate overdue items as needed
  • Perform follow-up audits to verify effectiveness of corrective actions and flag repeat non-compliances
  • Monitor compliance across pest control, food storage & segregation, expiry management, hazmat handling, medical certifications, and labeling
  • Support development and updating of food safety SOPs and audit checklists aligned with FSSAI regulations and internal policies
  • Coordinate with involved teams to drive on-ground remediation
  • Liaise with third-party vendors (pest control, medical providers) to ensure service quality and documentation compliance
  • Collaborate with Food Safety, Legal, and Business teams on escalations and regulatory requirements
  • Prepare weekly/monthly audit reports highlighting compliance scores, high-risk sites, and trending issues
  • Identify and share best practices to support continuous improvement across the network

Basic Qualifications

  • 1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience
  • 2+ years of experience for food safety management/ audits across food storage and distribution sites

Preferred Qualifications

  • CII Lead Auditor valid Certification
  • Knowledge and Application of SQL, Six-Sigma problem solving tools
  • Quality Management Tools
