Job Title: Food Safety Officer – IPM Segment
Location: Santacruz West, Mumbai (Office + Field Role)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Role Overview
The Food Safety Officer will be responsible for conducting pest-related inspections across client sites and ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene standards. The role is split between on-field inspections and in-office technical reporting, requiring both practical inspection capability and strong documentation skills.
Key Responsibilities
1. Field Inspections – IPM works
· Conduct scheduled and surprise inspections at client sites (F&B outlets, food processing units, warehouses, etc.)
· Identify pest activity, infestation risks, and sanitation gaps
· Evaluate effectiveness of existing pest control measures
· Collect site data, photographic evidence, and environmental observations
· Interact with client teams to explain findings and corrective actions and conduct segmented trainings
· Ensure compliance with food safety standards (FSSAI, HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000 where applicable)
2. Reporting & Documentation
· Prepare detailed inspection reports with risk grading and actionable recommendations
· Maintain inspection records, trend analysis, and compliance tracking
· Develop pest risk assessment summaries and audit-ready documentation
· Coordinate with internal teams for report standardization and quality control
· Support creation of SOPs, checklists, and client documentation
3. Compliance & Advisory
· Advise clients on preventive pest management strategies
· Ensure alignment with regulatory and audit requirements
· Assist in pre-audit inspections and compliance readiness
· Provide technical input for product/formulation or service improvements (if applicable)
4. Correctional Applications
· To carry out OTC – correctional application to sensitive/high risk areas
· To identify urgency, document the same and implement pro-active OTC correctional strategies to contain the sited pest escalation
· To implement quick, reactive measures by implementing OTC format applications
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Food Technology / Microbiology / Life Sciences / Environmental Science
· Certification or training in Food Safety (FSSAI FoSTaC / HACCP preferred)

· Strong understanding of pest behaviour and control methods
· Knowledge of food safety regulations and audit frameworks
· Excellent report writing and documentation skills
· Observational and analytical thinking
· Ability to communicate findings clearly to clients
· Basic proficiency in Excel / reporting tools
Work Structure
· 3 days/week: Field inspections (travel within city/region)
· 3 days/week: Office-based reporting and analysis
· Flexible scheduling depending on inspection load
Other Requirements
· Willingness to travel locally
· Ability to work in industrial, commercial, and food handling environments
· Attention to detail and high standards of hygiene awareness
