Role Overview

We are hiring on behalf of one of our clients collaborating with a leading AI research organization on a large-scale AI training initiative focused on improving culinary reasoning, recipe generation, ingredient knowledge, and culturally grounded food analysis in advanced language models.

We are seeking experienced Food and Drink Experts to create and evaluate high-quality food- and beverage-related prompts and responses.

This is a multilingual opportunity. We are specifically seeking experts who are fluent and deeply engaged in one or more of the following languages:

Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Spanish, Russian, German, Arabic, Thai, Tamil, or Hindi.

Important: This role is not about translation ability alone. Candidates must have sustained, hands-on engagement with food and drink within their linguistic and cultural context

including familiarity with:

  • Regional cuisines and traditional dishes
  • Cooking techniques and kitchen practices
  • Ingredient sourcing and substitutions
  • Dining customs and cultural etiquette
  • Beverage traditions (coffee, tea, wine, spirits, fermentation, etc.)
  • Culinary terminology and flavor theory

This role is ideal for serious home cooks, food writers, culinary enthusiasts, mixologists, specialty coffee or tea experts, fermentation hobbyists, or active participants in food communities within their language ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Author realistic prompts spanning recipe development, technique explanation, ingredient substitutions, regional cuisine analysis, and beverage pairings
  • Review and refine AI-generated responses for culinary accuracy, cultural authenticity, clarity, and practical feasibility
  • Write high-quality gold standard responses for nuanced cooking scenarios, dietary constraints, or culturally specific dishes
  • Create controlled prompt variations testing differences in ingredients, equipment availability, dietary needs, regional adaptations, or serving contexts
  • Evaluate outputs across tones (instructional, conversational, technical, editorial)
  • Identify model failure cases such as incorrect techniques, unsafe food handling advice, unrealistic substitutions, or culturally inaccurate representations of cuisines

Ideal Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of sustained engagement with food and drink through cooking, recipe development, food writing, beverage crafting, culinary content creation, or community participation
  • Active participation in culinary discourse within at least one of the specified language ecosystems
  • Strong familiarity with regional cuisines, traditional techniques, ingredient availability, and dining customs
  • Ability to clearly explain cooking processes, flavor profiles, and beverage pairings in the target language
  • Strong written communication skills and thoughtful editorial judgment

Commitment

  • Expected availability: 1040 hours per week
  • Fully remote with flexible scheduling

Application Process

  • Submit your resume, portfolio, or relevant culinary work
  • Complete a short form outlining your food and beverage background and language proficiency
  • Qualified applicants will receive follow-up steps within a few days

Contract & Payment Terms

  • Engagement as an independent contractor
  • Fully remote with flexible hours
  • Projects may be extended, shortened, or concluded based on performance and business needs
  • Weekly payments via Stripe or Wise based on services rendered
  • Visa sponsorship is not available at this time
