Roles range from entry-level field representatives to regional managers, focusing heavily on volume, merchandising, and payment collection.A typical FMCG sales job profile requires specific core duties, qualifications, and operational responsibilities.Core ResponsibilitiesRoute & Account Management: Conduct daily visits to distributors, wholesalers, and retail stores to secure product orders and replenish stock.Market Availability & Visibility: Ensure the 3As and a V framework—Availability, Acceptability, Affordability, and Visibility—by negotiating prime shelf space and executing promotional displays.Target Achievement: Meet and exceed primary (sales volume) and secondary (retail sales) targets within an assigned geographic territory.Collection & Fulfillment: Coordinate with logistics and finance teams to track orders and ensure timely payment collection from clients.Market Intelligence: Monitor competitor activities, pricing trends, and product performance, reporting this data to senior management.Qualifications & RequirementsEducation: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (MBA is typically required for management tiers).Experience: 2 to 5+ years of B2B or field sales experience, particularly with fast-moving consumer or food products.Key Traits: Goal-driven, adaptable, and possesses excellent negotiation and communication skills.Mobility: Willingness to travel frequently to perform field-based market visits and client check-ins.Role HierarchySales Executive / Officer: Executes daily store visits, collects orders, and manages direct retailer relationships.Area Sales Manager (ASM): Coaches and evaluates the field sales team, handles major distributors, and oversees regional KPIs.Regional Sales Manager (RSM): Develops large-scale sales strategies, manages the budget, and collaborates with marketing for campaigns.
