Job Description: Fluent Commerce ArchitectRole OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Fluent Commerce Architect to lead the design, implementation, customization, and optimization of distributed Order Management System (OMS) solutions using the Fluent Commerce platform. The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on expertise, deep OMS domain knowledge, and experience in building scalable, event-driven commerce ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities- Architect, design, and implement scalable OMS solutions using Fluent Commerce
- Lead hands-on development, customization, and configuration of Fluent Commerce OMS
- Design and manage end-to-end order lifecycle processes, including: Order orchestration, Inventory visibility, Fulfillment and returns
- Develop and implement REST APIs, webhooks, and event-driven integrations
- Design integration frameworks between Fluent Commerce and: eCommerce platforms (Adobe Commerce, Shopify, etc.), ERP systems (SAP, Oracle), Logistics and fulfillment providers
- Define and optimize inventory management strategies, including: Available-to-Promise (ATP), Sourcing and order routing, Fulfillment optimization
- Work on event-driven architecture patterns for real-time processing and scalability
- Troubleshoot complex integration and order flow issues across systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Conduct architecture reviews, code reviews, and enforce best practices
- Mentor developers and provide technical leadership
Required Skills & Experience- 8+ years of IT experience with 3+ years in Fluent Commerce OMS
- Proven hands-on experience in Fluent Commerce implementation and customization
- Strong expertise in: REST APIs, Webhooks, Event-driven architecture
- Solid experience integrating OMS with: eCommerce platforms, ERP systems, Logistics/3PL systems
- Strong understanding of OMS functional areas: Inventory management, Available-to-Promise (ATP), Order sourcing and routing, Fulfillment workflows
- Proficiency in: Java / Spring Boot or Node.js
- Experience with: Messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ), Microservices architecture
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP)
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Good to Have- Experience with headless commerce architecture
- Exposure to Adobe Commerce (Magento), Shopify
- Integration experience with SAP / Oracle ERP
- Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices
- Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools
