Job Summary
The Floor Engineer will be responsible for supervising daily shop floor fabrication activities, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and safety procedures are maintained during the manufacturing of heavy steel structures such as steel bridges, gantries, PEB sheds, and other fabricated components.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily fabrication activities on the shop floor.
- Ensure fabrication work is carried out as per approved drawings, specifications, and production schedules.
- Coordinate with the design, planning, stores, and quality teams for smooth production.
- Monitor manpower utilization, machine performance, and material consumption.
- Ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the fabrication process.
- Enforce safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment on the shop floor.
- Track production progress and submit daily production reports to management.
- Identify production issues and coordinate with concerned departments for timely resolution.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and discipline within the assigned work area.
Qualification
- Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in steel fabrication, shop floor production, or heavy structural fabrication industries.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of fabrication drawings and AutoCAD.
- Understanding of welding, cutting, fitting, and assembly processes.
- Good leadership and manpower management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and communication abilities.
- Familiarity with quality standards and industrial safety practices.
