We're Hiring: Flight Dynamics Engineer
Gurgaon | Full-Time | Core Team
LAT Aerospace | STOL Aircraft
At LAT Aerospace, we're building a clean-sheet Short Take-off and Landing (STOL) aircraft to transform regional air mobility in India. We're looking for a Flight Dynamics Engineer to model, simulate, and validate the nonlinear flight behavior of high-lift blown wings aircraft with distributed propulsion systems.
What you'll do
- Build and maintain nonlinear 6-DOF flight dynamics models, integrating aerodynamics, propulsion, and controls.
- Develop and validate aerodynamic databases using CFD, wind tunnel, or flight data.
- Conduct trim, stability, control and margin analysis for STOL, and novel aircraft configurations.
- Support control law design and system-level integration of flight physics into onboard systems.
- Simulate performance for takeoff, landing, climb, and transition phases in high-lift regimes.
- Collaborate with other teams to deliver robust simulations for design and test planning.
- Participate in flight test planning and post-flight data analysis to tune and validate models.
What we're looking for
- Deep understanding of aircraft dynamics, nonlinear modelling, and control coupling.
- Experience with tools like MATLAB/Simulink, or Python (SciPy, JAX).
- Familiarity with aerodynamic model building and database interpolation techniques.
- Exposure to SIL/HIL simulation, system identification, and post-flight parameter estimation.
Bonus: Background in augmented lift effects, high-lift aerodynamics, or UAV testing.
Why LAT
- Core team opportunity at a high-conviction deep-tech startup
- Real aircraft, real flying hardware, real impact
- Build the future of sustainable aviation in India
