Jefferies is creating a Technology Innovation Hub in Pune, a greenfield opportunity to build the systems that power global markets. As our first India technology center, this hub brings together hands on builders who engineer the platforms behind Jefferies growth across capital markets, investment banking, and institutional securities. We're scaling toward an elite team of 500 engineers while maintaining the agility, ownership, and meritocratic spirit that defines Jefferies. From cloud and data to AI, risk, and core business technologies, teams in Pune will lead high impact work with a global mandate.
Fixed Income Technology
Jefferies Fixed Income Technology team builds automation, analytics, and high-performance platforms that power global Fixed Income sales and trading across Rates, Credit, Municipals, EM, Derivatives, Loans, and Securitized Markets. The team focuses on resilient, mission critical systems and modern engineering—leveraging AI/ML, advanced analytics, cloud architecture, and digital engineering practices—to support the firm's growth and competitiveness in global FI markets.
Jefferies Pune Fixed Income Technology team plays a critical role within three globally integrated domains: Data & Reporting, Cloud Platform, Software Engineering.
Role Overview
Jefferies Pune Fixed Income (Data and Cross Product Technology) seeks a Senior
-Level Technologist who has at least 10+ years of experience in implementing end-to-end large-scale applications across multiple geographical regions. This role will contribute to designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise‑grade applications, ensuring seamless integration between front‑end interfaces and back‑end systems. The ideal candidate will have experience across the full software development lifecycle and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with the business management team and desk heads to drive project requirements and prioritization.
- Drive implementation and design with an emphasis on high availability, scalability, and reusability
- Work with other Fixed Income front office team leads to promote framework reusability across all businesses.
- Balance time to market (client delivery) with proper governance, compliance, and audit mandates
- Mentor junior developers.
Required Technical Experience And Skills
- Extensive experience in Java and Multithreading programming
- Experience and Knowledge of Fixed Income Products.
- Knowledge of low latency and event-driven programming.
- Experience working with REST APIs, GraphQL, and Microservices Architecture.
- Front-end: HTML5, CSS JavaScript, Frameworks like React/Angular
- Back-end: Java, Python, Node.js, Spring, Spring Boot
- Databases: Oracle, Postgres, MSSQL
- Tools: Atlassian Suite (Jira/Bitbucket/Bamboo/Jenkins/Confluence), Maven, Strong DevOps skills
- Version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines
- Unix shell scripting.
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly.
- Willingness to learn new programming languages and technologies.
- Ability to work well with business managers, traders, and developers.
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
Desired Experience/Skills
- Broad spectrum knowledge of Financial IT environments
- Experience from a similar position within Front Office
- Understanding of secure coding practices and compliance requirements
- Knowledge of AWS services (S3, RedShift, Postgres, EC2, Glue)
- Knowledge of message streaming platforms like Kafka (AWS MSK or Confluent)
- Familiarity with Github Copilot, Claude Code
