Fixed Income Technology
Jefferies Fixed Income Technology team builds automation, analytics, and high-performance platforms that power global Fixed Income sales and trading across Rates, Credit, Municipals, EM, Derivatives, Loans, and Securitized Markets. The team focuses on resilient, mission critical systems and modern engineering—leveraging AI/ML, advanced analytics, cloud architecture, and digital engineering practices—to support the firm's growth and competitiveness in global FI markets.
Jefferies Pune Fixed Income Technology team plays a critical role within three globally integrated domains: Data & Reporting, Cloud Platform, Software Engineering .
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled senior developer with 10+ years of hands‑on experience in Power BI to join our Pune-based analytics team. The ideal candidate will have a solid track record of designing, developing, and implementing end‑to‑end BI solutions, transforming raw data into actionable insights, and collaborating closely with cross‑functional stakeholders to support data‑driven decision‑making and leading a team of junior BI developers. Additionally, the candidate will possess a strong background in data and business analysis, along with analytical and communications skills.
The candidate will play a key role in managing the full lifecycle of BI reporting—from data modelling and dashboard creation to optimization and governance—ensuring high levels of quality and scalability across our analytics landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Pipelining: Build data pipelines to fetch data from strategic and tactical data sources into BI Platform.
- Data Preparing: Create database views for reporting layers on top of complex data schema.
- Data Modeling: Designing Star/Snowflake dimensional data models that are both scalable and performant at the same time, using Power Query, Data Flows, etc.
- Developing dashboards: Creating dashboards and reports that help businesses understand and act on complex data. Good experience in writing and interpreting performant DAX Expressions.
- Maintaining data integrity: Ensuring data accuracy and performance
- Communicating insights: Sharing insights to help improve corporate decision-making.
- DevOps tools: Define and implement an effective Version Control strategy and CICD process using GitHub.
- Collaborating with stakeholders: Working with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into data visualizations. Working with Cloud engineering for any needs/issues related to Power BI ecosystem.
- Setting up standards: Help in defining and streamlining development standards.
- Optimizing data models and dashboards/reports: Optimizing Dashboards/Reports and the underlying data models for good performance and scalability. Experience in tuning performance of DAX expressions.
Required Technical Experience And Skills
- Experience in creating complex reports and dashboards using Power BI
- Proven expertise in developing and maintaining complex Power BI apps.
- Proficiency in data modeling, DAX, Power Query, data storytelling and governance capabilities
- Experience in implementing Row level security (RLS) for authentication in Power BI.
- Experience in implementing self service BI model.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and data manipulation.
- Strong ability to understand complex data and data objects.
- Ability to create and maintain db views needed for reporting use.
- Paginated Reports development in Power BI and Email distribution of embedded reports.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modelling, and relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, etc.).
- Experience integrating BI tools with varied data sources—databases, APIs, flat files, etc.
- Good understanding of ETL processes and tools.
- Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Desired Experience/Skills
- Experience of Finance domain, specifically Fixed Income, would be an added advantage.
- Familiarity with Airflow, Tabular Editor etc. tools is a plus.
- Experience utilizing the AI features of Power BI such as CoPilot, Power BI MCP etc.
