Fixed Asset Accountant

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have prior experience as a storekeeper or in accounts management with a focus on fixed assets. This role is critical for ensuring the accurate identification, reconciliation, and documentation of fixed assets across multiple sites, maintaining a live status of all assets at all times..

Key Responsibilities:

Fixed Asset Identification and Reconciliation

• Conduct periodic physical verification of fixed assets on-site.
• Reconcile physical assets with the records in the books of accounts.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in asset records promptly.

Accounts Management

• Record all fixed asset transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, and transfers, in the accounting system.
• Ensure depreciation schedules are updated and accurate.
• Maintain compliance with accounting standards related to fixed assets.

Asset Tracking and Reporting

• Develop and maintain a live status report for all fixed assets, including location, condition, and usage.
• Prepare periodic fixed asset reports for management review.

Documentation and Compliance

• Maintain proper documentation for all fixed asset transactions, including purchase invoices, transfer notes, and disposal records.
• Assist in audits by providing necessary fixed asset records and reconciliations.
• Adhere to internal controls and policies regarding fixed asset management

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Proven experience as a storekeeper or in accounts management, preferably with a focus on fixed assets.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles related to fixed assets.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience in a multi-site business environment.
• Familiarity with asset tracking software.
