- The embedded firmware development teams are responsible for the definition and detailed design of embedded solutions to meet the functional and performance objectives of the variable speed drive and its applications.
- The mission is to participate in the development and maintenance of the embedded software of the SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC range of variable speed drives.
- Lead Technical Project Organization manage functionally the products/system design team:
- Collaborate challenge the architect leaders to provide the project deliverables: technical specifications, architecture, test plan and Code.
- Follow process, methods and tools and adapt them to project constraints. Follow-up challenge daily work progress of the design team
- Build manage the technical development plan (schedule, resources, workload,...).
- Manage mitigate the technical risks by anticipating specific resources skills.
- Communicate with core project team and top management on the project design status progress.
- In collaboration with the embedded software team, translate Offer Requirements to Product /System Specifications Verification plans:
- Understand Customer Requirements
- Challenge Offer Requirements to prioritize Customer values (Minimum Viable Product)
- Get outputs from predevelopment phase take ownership of concept
- Define technical specifications for System / Products / Sub-Assemblies / Bricks and components.
- Collaborate with Offer Manager to define mission profiles for system products.
- Consider the cross-functional requirements to complete components/ sub-assemblies product /system specification
- Be accountable for verification plan and collaborate with Project Test Leader to define it.
- Contribute to validation and certification plan definition in collaboration with Offer Manager Project Test Leader.
- Be accountable collaborate with Simulations System/Products Experts to optimize verification plans.
- Capitalize the lessons learned
- Define and propagate internal best practices
- Participate in activities related to continuous improvement
- Collaborate with validation teams
- Have interactions with other Schneider Electric entities for integration into the solution or integration of bricks.
- Have interactions with external partners for the integration of their proprietary bricks
Skills / Requirements:
- Experience and expertise in functional lead for design of embedded software (minimum of 5 years of experience)
- Experience and expertise in the design of embedded software (minimum of 5-10 years of experience)
- Experience and expertise in managing project requirements including embedded software and electronic aspects.
- Experience in RD Department is a must
- Lean/Agile mindset is a must
- Experience with scrum framework is a must
- Consolidated knowledge of embedded software engineering
- Ability to work in multi-cultural and multi-national teams
- Readiness of mind, analytical thinking, flexibility ability to act independently and on your own responsibility, resilience
- Experience in Variable Speed Drives is a plus
- Experience with System Engineering is a plus
- Experience in Cyber Security implementation is a plus
- Experience in Functional Safety implementation is a plus
- Experience in Embedded protocols based on ethernet is a plus
- Willingness to travel
- Previous experience w/ development cycle is desirable
Additional Qualifications
- English is mandatory, French Speaking would be a plus
- Electrical Engineering degree is a must
- At least 10 years of experience in RD
- At least few years experience in functional management
- Master or PhD degree in software engineering or equivalent is a plus
- Experience of Software Project Leader or equivalent is a plus
