Job Summary

The System Engineer – Embedded Firmware (Automotive IBS) is responsible for the design, development, testing, and maintenance of embedded firmware for 12V Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS) applications. The role focuses on battery monitoring, state estimation (SOC/SOH), low-level driver development, automotive communication protocols, and firmware validation while ensuring compliance with automotive quality and performance standards.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for 12V Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS) systems.
  • Develop algorithms for State of Charge (SOC), State of Health (SOH), and battery diagnostics.
  • Develop low-level drivers and integrate MCU peripherals such as UART, SPI, I2C, ADC, PWM, Flash, and EEPROM.
  • Implement firmware using Embedded C and RTOS-based architectures.
  • Integrate firmware with automotive communication protocols including CAN and LIN.
  • Perform firmware debugging, validation, and root cause analysis using Oscilloscopes, CAN Analyzers, JTAG, and Logic Analyzers.
  • Support firmware integration, testing, and system validation activities.
  • Analyze lead-acid battery behavior, charging/discharging characteristics, battery aging, and temperature effects.
  • Ensure compliance with coding standards and perform static code analysis.
  • Collaborate with hardware, system, validation, and testing teams throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Maintain technical documentation and support continuous product improvements.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 2–4 years of experience in Embedded Firmware Development.
  • Experience in Automotive Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS) or Battery Monitoring Systems is preferred.
  • Strong programming skills in Embedded C.
  • Experience with RTOS.
  • Hands-on experience in MCU peripheral development (UART, SPI, I2C, ADC, PWM, Flash, EEPROM).
  • Experience with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN).
  • Experience with firmware debugging and validation tools.
  • Familiarity with automotive microcontrollers such as NXP, Renesas, Infineon, or Analog Devices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
