MTS FIRMWARE ENGINEER

The Role

We are looking for an MTS (Member of Technical Staff) Engineer with an obsession for firmware. As part of the role, this engineer will work closely with other firmware engineers, developers and architects across various IPs in designing and implementing firmware that spans pre-silicon and post-silicon for all AMD SoCs.

The Person

You are passionate about firmware development with creative and effective problem-solving skills, a motivated, self-starter who can work both independently and collaboratively in fast paced environments. You have excellent technical communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, Develop, Debug, Verify and/or Validate Firmware, and/or Software
  • Implement DDR/LPDDR/HBM training algorithms and PHY features in Firmware
  • Participate in day-to-day firmware development work
  • Take part in silicon bringup in the lab
  • Make and meet commitments, and execute with honesty, flawlessly Provide consultation to internal and external customers regarding AMD features and programming requirements

Preferred Experience


  • Proficient in C programming
  • Proficient in debugging firmware in pre and post Silicon environments
  • Previous experience in DDR/LPDDR, Memory firmware, MRC and BIOS firmware would be very helpful
  • Previous experience in any other high speed IO interface firmware development (Serdes, USB, PCIE, UCIE etc.) also helpful
  • Expert level experience producing quality firmware

Academic Credentials


  • Bachelors or Masters degree (preferred) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
