Teamware Solutions is seeking a skilled professional for the Firewall Administration - Security Management role. This critical position involves working with relevant technologies to manage and maintain our network security infrastructure, ensuring smooth operations, and contributing significantly to business objectives by performing expert analysis, development of security policies, implementation of robust configurations, and troubleshooting within the Firewall Administration and Security Management domain.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Firewall Management: Design, configure, implement, and maintain various firewall technologies (e.g., Palo Alto Networks, Cisco ASA/Firepower, Fortinet FortiGate, Check Point) across our network infrastructure.
- Security Policy Enforcement: Develop, implement, and manage firewall rules, security policies, VPNs (Site-to-Site, Remote Access), and NAT configurations to enforce security postures and access controls.
- Threat Prevention: Configure and optimize advanced security features on firewalls such as Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), URL filtering, application control, anti-malware, and deep packet inspection.
- Network Segmentation: Implement and maintain network segmentation strategies using firewalls to isolate critical systems and reduce the attack surface.
- Monitoring & Alerting: Proactively monitor firewall logs, security events, and performance metrics. Configure alerts and dashboards to detect and respond to potential security incidents.
- Troubleshooting: Perform in-depth troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex network security issues, connectivity problems, and performance degradation related to firewalls.
- Vulnerability Management: Assist in identifying firewall vulnerabilities and implementing necessary patches, upgrades, or configuration changes to enhance security.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for firewall configurations, network security policies, diagrams, and operational procedures.
- Collaboration: Work closely with network engineers, security operations center (SOC) analysts, application teams, and other IT departments to ensure integrated and effective security solutions.
Preferred Candidate Profile:
- Firewall Expertise: Strong hands-on experience in the administration, configuration, and troubleshooting of enterprise-grade firewall platforms (e.g., Palo Alto Networks, Cisco, Fortinet, Check Point).
- Network Security Fundamentals: In-depth understanding of network security principles, protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP), routing, switching, and VPN technologies.
- Security Concepts: Solid knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, threat landscapes, common attack vectors, and defense mechanisms.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to diagnosing and resolving complex security and network issues.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical concepts and security findings effectively.
- Certifications (Plus): Industry-recognized security certifications (e.g., Palo Alto PCNSA/PCNSE, Fortinet NSE, Cisco CCNA Security/CCNP Security, CompTIA Security+) are highly desirable.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field.
