Job Purpose
Fire Prevention: Implement and enforce fire prevention measures, conduct inspections, and educate the
public about fire safety to minimize fire hazards and risks.
Job Responsibilities
- Conducting regular inspections to ensure the center complies with fire safety
regulations, including checking fire exits, alarm systems, fire pump and fire
extinguishers.
- Responsible for all testing, Preventive maintenance, upkeep, rectification of
equipment, closure of all observations made during inspections, and closure
of all audit observations.
- Providing training to staff and students on fire safety measures, evacuation
procedures, and the use of firefighting equipment.
- Maintaining records of incidents, training, equipment inspection &
maintenance, and other activities.
- Inspection and reporting of malfunctioning critical fire safety equipment.
- Monitoring of Fire Alarm System and fire line pressure regularly.
- Leading and coordinating firefighting, rescue operations, and emergency
medical responses.
- Ensure implementation of Fire safety management plan on ground.
- Responsible for upkeep and serviceability of equipment installed in
designated area assigned.
- Assist the HOD in the Mock Drills and oversee that everyone in the coaching
center knows how to evacuate safely in case of an emergency.
Specific Knowledge & Skills
- Firefighting Techniques: Understanding different firefighting methods, including the use of
water, foam, and other fire-suppressing agents.
- Fire Behaviour: Knowledge of how fire spreads and the factors that influence it.
- Building Construction: Understanding building materials and construction methods to predict
fire behaviour and potential hazards.
- Hazardous Materials: Identification and handling of hazardous substances, including chemicals
and gases.
- Fire Prevention: Strategies to prevent fires and educate the public on fire safety.
- Firefighting Equipment: Operation and maintenance of firefighting equipment, such as
Extinguishers, hydrants, hose reels, pumps etc.
- Incident Command: Knowledge of incident command systems and ability to coordinate and lead during emergencies.
- Teamwork: Ability to work well within a team, following orders and coordinating with others.
Major KRA
- Fire Prevention: Conduct inspections of buildings and facilities to identify fire hazards and educate the
people about fire safety practices and prevention techniques.
- Equipment Maintenance: Inspect and maintain firefighting equipment to ensure they are in good
working condition and report any equipment malfunctions or issues promptly.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to fire alarms and emergency calls and participate in
firefighting operations to control and extinguish the fire.
- Training and Drills: Participate in regular training sessions and drills to maintain skills and knowledge
and stay updated on the latest firefighting techniques and safety procedures.
- Incident Reporting: Complete accurate and detailed reports of incidents and firefighting activities and
document any injuries, equipment damage, or unusual occurrences
