Engineering role in creating fire protection engineering judgements for designers, inspectors and installers for firestop products.
What You'll Do
- Support customers in problem solving firestop solutions based upon their needs
- Meet assigned deadlines for project assignments
- Demonstrate and encourage collaboration between team members and technical and sales teams
- Suggest to team leader new product opportunities, approval extensions and testing based on experience
- Increase knowledge base and self-sufficiency by remaining current in the knowledge of building codes relative to the application of Hilti Firestop products
- Research existing fire data to create engineering judgments/recommendations for field applications that are outside of approvals
- Active role in trainings related to BU Fire Protection (as required)
- Complete smaller projects (e.g. presentations, web development, small testing projects, etc.) to help support the activities of Hilti Fire Protection Specialists and sales personnel
- Mitigate risk to company, product group and department by maintaining high design and engineering standards
What You'll Bring
- B.S. Fire Protection, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical degree experience
- Ability to communicate technical information effectively with customers, engineers, and architects through verbal and written response
- Ability to organize and utilize large amounts of reference information both in hardcopy and electronic files
- Ability to identify, analyze, and solve technical problems
- Ability to work effectively under a team discipline
- Aptitude to read and understand blueprints, construction specifications, and technical documents
- Ability to effectively use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of AutoCad and other design software is a plus
- Good planning and organizing skills required
