FinOps Certified Practitioner with expertise in centralized tagging frameworks, chargeback models,& policy as code guardrails.
Background in SRE/Cloud Engineering with strong knowledge of Kubernetes, serverless, data platforms,& network egress patterns.
Key Responsibilities
FinOps & Cost Management
- Implement and manage FinOps best practices across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments.
- Monitor, analyze, and optimize cloud spending.
- Build cloud cost allocation and reporting frameworks.
- Develop forecasting, budgeting, and cost optimization strategies.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive remediation initiatives.
Tagging & Cost Allocation
- Design and enforce centralized cloud tagging standards.
- Ensure accurate cost attribution across applications, business units, and environments.
- Maintain governance around resource ownership, cost centers, and project tagging.
Chargeback & Showback Models
- Develop and manage chargeback/showback mechanisms.
- Allocate shared infrastructure costs across business units.
- Create dashboards and reports for cloud consumption visibility.
Policy-as-Code Governance
- Implement cloud governance controls using policy-as-code frameworks.
- Enforce mandatory tagging, resource standards, and cost controls.
- Prevent non-compliant resource deployments through automated guardrails.
Kubernetes & Platform Cost Optimization
- Analyze Kubernetes cluster utilization and resource consumption.
- Optimize node sizing, autoscaling, workload placement, and container resource allocation.
- Drive cost-efficiency initiatives across containerized platforms.
Cloud & Data Platform Optimization
- Optimize costs across serverless platforms, databases, and data analytics environments.
- Review compute, storage, and network utilization patterns.
- Recommend architecture improvements for cost efficiency.
Network Cost Optimization
- Analyze network traffic and cloud egress patterns.
- Identify and reduce unnecessary cross-region and cross-cloud traffic costs.
- Implement strategies to minimize network-related cloud expenses.
Stakeholder Management
- Partner with Finance, Engineering, Platform, Security, and Leadership teams.
- Present cloud cost insights, trends, and optimization recommendations.
- Drive FinOps awareness and accountability across engineering teams.
