Job Description (JD) for a Finishing Engineer – Residential Building:

Job Title: Finishing Engineer – Residential Projects

Job Purpose:

To supervise and execute all finishing works in residential buildings, ensuring high-quality workmanship, timely completion, safety compliance, and adherence to project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise all finishing activities including plastering, flooring, tiling, marble/granite work, waterproofing, false ceiling, painting, doors, windows, joinery, and final fixtures.
Ensure all finishing works are executed as per approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
Coordinate with architects, consultants, MEP teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to resolve site issues.
Prepare daily work plans and monitor progress to achieve project milestones.
Conduct inspections and ensure timely closure of snag lists and punch points.
Monitor material consumption and minimize wastage.
Ensure compliance with safety procedures and company HSE policies.
Maintain site records, daily progress reports, and quality checklists.
Verify subcontractor measurements and support billing activities.
Coordinate handover activities and ensure apartments are ready for possession.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering/ Interior Design

5–10 years of experience in finishing works for residential high-rise or township projects.

Required Skills

Strong knowledge of residential finishing materials and construction techniques.
Ability to read drawings and specifications.
Excellent planning, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with quality control procedures and safety standards.
Good communication and team management skills.
AutoCAD (preferred).
