Financial Reporting - Senior Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our Financial Reporting team. This role is ideal for a professional with a strong background in asset management accounting and a proven ability to prepare and review complex financial statements. You will be instrumental in ensuring accuracy and compliance with global accounting standards, while also contributing to regulatory reporting and building strong relationships with clients and auditors.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Statement Preparation & Review:
• Under limited supervision, prepare and review annual, semi-annual, and quarterly financial statements in accordance with GAAP or IFRS.
• Compile and review key financial components, including the balance sheet, income statement, statement of changes, cash flow, and footnotes.
• Ensure the accuracy of footnote disclosures by reviewing legal documents that govern the fund.
• Coordinate the year-end financial statement process with all relevant parties.
• Regulatory Reporting:
• Compile and provide guidance on various monthly, quarterly, and annual regulatory reports, such as Form PF and Form SLT.
• Contribute to strong regulatory relationships through professional interactions with internal teams, clients, regulators (SEC), and audit firm personnel.
• Analysis & Problem-Solving:
• Write and/or review various reports related to engagements and prepare ad-hoc reports for clients upon request.
• Troubleshoot Fund Accounting and client issues, identifying errors and recommending solutions to team members or supervisors.
• Plan your own work and suggest methods and procedures for new assignments.
• Training & Development:
• Assist in the development of training programs for accountants in financial reporting and the alternative fund industry.

About You

• Experience: Previous experience in Financial Statement Preparation is required.
• Skills: A professional with experience in asset management accounting gained in an Accounting Firm, Hedge Fund, Hedge Fund Administrator, Mutual Fund, or similar financial institution.
• Education: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
• Attributes: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present or exchange information with clients and auditors.
