Reporting to : Finance controller

Location : Bangalore

Qualification: CA/CWA

Experience : 4-6 years of experience

Position Overview:

The FP&A Lead will be responsible for supporting the financial planning, analysis, and reporting activities of an Australian-based business while being located in Bangalore. This role acts as a critical finance partner to the Australian leadership team, providing timely financial insights, modelling, and performance analysis to support strategic decision-making.

Working remotely with the Australian finance and operational teams, the FP&A Lead will play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and performance tracking across the business. The role requires strong analytical capability, commercial acumen, and the ability to work effectively across time zones in a highly collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities / Functions:

Financial Planning & Forecasting

  • Lead the preparation and consolidation of annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
  • Partner closely with Australian business leaders to understand operational drivers and translate them into accurate financial forecasts.
  • Maintain and enhance financial planning models supporting revenue, cost, and capital forecasting.

Financial Analysis & Business Insights

  • Provide detailed monthly variance analysis against budget and forecast, identifying key drivers, risks, and opportunities.
  • Deliver actionable insights and recommendations to improve financial and operational performance.
  • Support the evaluation of financial business cases, including capital investment analysis and return assessments.

Reporting & Performance Management

  • Prepare monthly management reporting packs for executive leadership.
  • Prepare quarterly Board reporting materials for the VP Finance.
  • Develop dashboards and reporting tools that enhance visibility of key financial and operational metrics.
  • Monitor business performance and proactively highlight emerging risks and opportunities.

Business Partnering

  • Act as a remote finance business partner to the Australian leadership team.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to understand key business drivers including revenue, costs, fleet utilisation, and project performance.
  • Support strategic planning initiatives and business transformation projects.

Process Improvement & Data Management

  • Identify opportunities to automate and streamline financial reporting and planning processes.
  • Enhance the use of financial systems, business intelligence tools, and data analytics.
  • Ensure consistency, accuracy, and reliability of financial data used for decision-making.

Cross-Border Collaboration

  • Work effectively with teams across Australia and India to ensure alignment on reporting timelines and deliverables.
  • Participate in meetings with Australian stakeholders during overlapping business hours when required.

People

  • Foster a culture of respect, collaboration, and team spirit through effective leadership, development, and training.
  • Support other team members within the Freo Group where practical to help achieve organisational objectives.

Preferred Qualifications: (Education, Technical Skills/Knowledge)

· Bachelor Business Accounting or related discipline a minimum.

· One of the following forms of accreditation CA, CMA, ACCA, CPA recognition a minimum.

DESIRABLE

· Systems experience in ERP systems (Microsoft D365) highly regarded

· Business intelligence background or experience in BI, Onestream highly regarded

· Experience working in a BPO environment, ideally experienced with working with Australian companies.

  • Strong analytical and financial modelling capability
  • Ability to translate financial data into clear commercial insights
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders remotely
  • High attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Self-driven with the ability to work independently in a remote support role
  • Comfortable working across time zones and international teams
  • Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills.
