Wakeup Whistle is looking for a detail-oriented Financial Planning Analyst Intern who wants to learn how businesses plan budgets, forecast future performance, manage expenses, and use financial information to make strategic decisions.

About the Role

In this internship, you will support financial planning activities and help the team evaluate business performance against planned targets. You'll gain practical exposure to budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, financial reporting, and scenario planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing budgets and financial plans.
• Support monthly and periodic forecasting activities.
• Compare actual performance with planned figures.
• Analyze differences in revenue, expenses, and operating costs.
• Help prepare financial planning reports and management summaries.
• Track important financial and operational KPIs.
• Assist in maintaining financial models and planning templates.
• Support what-if and scenario analysis for business planning.
• Collect financial inputs from different teams and organize them for analysis.
• Assist with monthly and quarterly performance reporting.
• Identify financial trends that may affect future planning.
• Maintain accurate records of assumptions, forecasts, and supporting information.

Skills & Requirements

• Good knowledge of Excel / Google Sheets.
• Basic understanding of finance and accounting.
• Interest in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Ability to understand financial reports.
• Familiarity with financial statements is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of financial modelling is an advantage.
• Exposure to Power BI or other reporting tools is a plus.
• Good communication and presentation skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
