About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Financial Accounting Associate


In this role, you will:

  • Provide support for financial accounting related matters for lines of business and control functions

  • Review basic activities associated with maintaining ledger accounts, financial statements and regulatory reports

  • Gather financial data for financial and regulatory reports

  • Review data from the general ledger, unit reports and various financial systems to ensure accuracy

  • Receive direction from managers and exercise independent judgment while developing understanding of financial control functions in accordance with the company's internal control policies

  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals


Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ months of Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Financial Reporting, Accounting Reporting or Risk Reporting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelors/MBA in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics or Business or CFA/CPA/CA

  • Knowledge and understanding of financial products: fixed income securities, derivatives and foreign exchange Experience in SEC and regulatory reporting (FR Y-9C, FFIEC 009, FFIEC 031/041, FR Y-15, FR2436, TIC reports, FR-Y2900, FFIEC 030) Ability to manage effectively in a matrixed organization Ability to incorporate multiple data sources and develop strategies/operational processes (Calypso, GMI, Endur, Broadridge, Wall Street, CFMA-LIMBE, OPICS, FACS, Midas Plus, Hogan, CoRS) Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access) skills Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to strategically analyze data and diagnose opportunities and interventions Ability to execute in a fast paced, high demand, environment while balancing multiple priorities Superior project management skills including the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently


Job Expectations:

  • This individual will play a significant role and leading the compilation and critical review data submissions on derivatives and foreign-denominated assets and liabilities for the purposes of preparing SEC and regulatory filings. This requires an ability to evaluate complex reporting requirements, to define the data elements required to satisfy the reporting requirements and in some cases, to perform complex calculations on accounting information to generate the requested derivatives information.

  • The individual is expected to possess strong analytical skills and a sound understanding of control requirements over financial reporting. Experience in data analytics and accounting for derivatives and foreign-denominated assets and liabilities is desired.

  • The work requires an individual that is self-directed and has the ability to prioritize, manage and deliver on competing requests. In addition to reporting responsibilities, the individual will also participate in composing business requirements documentation that technology specialists can use as a roadmap to acquire the data required to complete reporting requirements.

  • This requires excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills. This individual will also assist with developing more junior team members and take leadership roles in reporting consultations and data requests from other business units.
