Role Description: Shivalik Group operates across multiple brands, and the Financial Analyst plays a central role in ensuring that each brand's financial performance is tracked accurately, reported on time, and budgeted realistically.
Financial Analyst (Shivalik Group) - Job Overview
The Financial Analyst will support the Finance function of the Shivalik Group with a core focus on Brand-wise Profit & Loss reporting, budgeting, and MIS. Working closely with the Finance Controller and brand teams, the Financial Analyst will be responsible for accurate and timely brand-level financial data, variance analysis, and reporting that enable leadership to track performance and take informed decisions on pricing, cost, and investment.
Job Location: Dehradun / Noida
CTC: 20- 24 lacs per annum (Depending on the Background and Skill level of the Candidate)
Key Responsibilities
1. Brand-wise P&L Reporting & Analysis
• Prepare and update the monthly Brand-wise P&L for all brands/SBUs, covering revenue, COGS, gross margin, brand-level overheads, and net contribution.
• Apply the Group's approved allocation methodology for shared costs (rent, salaries, bank charges, etc., overheads) consistently across brands.
• Track and report Gross Margin %, EBITDA %, and Return on Capital Employed at the brand level.
• Provide SKU/category-level drill-down analysis to explain key P&L movements.
• Support brand-level profitability review meetings with data packs, trend charts, and variance commentary.
2. Budgeting & Forecasting
• Coordinate the annual budgeting exercise at brand and Group levels, consolidating inputs from brand heads and the finance team.
• Build and maintain rolling forecast models (monthly/quarterly) at brand and Group levels.
• Conduct monthly Actuals vs. Budget vs. Prior Year variance analysis and highlight significant deviations.
• Track the status of corrective actions arising from budget variance reviews.
3. MIS & Management Reporting
• Prepare and circulate the monthly Brand P&L dashboard with Actuals vs. Budget vs. Prior Year comparisons.
• Compile the Group MIS pack covering the Cash Flow Statement, Working Capital Dashboard, and Key Financial Ratios (Current Ratio, Quick Ratio, Debtor Days, Creditor Days, Inventory Turnover).
• Prepare Channel-wise and Geography-wise revenue split reports.
• Continuously improve MIS templates and reporting formats to reduce manual effort and strengthen data accuracy.
4. Pricing, Cost & Margin Analysis
• Track brand-wise operating costs against budget and benchmark against revenue and industry norms.
• Analyse the impact of pricing, discounts, and trade schemes on brand-level gross margins.
• Identify cost trends and flag potential efficiency opportunities for Finance leadership's review.
5. Working Capital & Inventory Tracking
• Monitor brand-wise Debtor Days, Creditor Days, Inventory Days of Stock, and the net working capital cycle.
• Track inventory ageing and sell-through rates per brand; flag slow-moving or ageing stock for action.
• Support collection follow-up reporting and monitor adherence to credit policy.
6. Financial Reporting Support
• Assist in the finalisation of books of accounts by ensuring brand-wise provisions and accruals are accurately captured ahead of the monthly close.
Experience
8+ years of experience in financial planning & analysis, budgeting, or brand/SBU-wise P&L reporting, preferably within distribution, consumer electronics, FMCG, or retail businesses. Strong proficiency in Excel and financial modelling is essential; exposure to ERP and MIS systems will be an advantage.
