Amazon's Finance Operations, Accounting & Analysis (FOAA) team is a fast-paced, team-focused, dynamic environment and delivering great experiences for our customers is top priority.

FOAA is seeking a Financial Analyst to support our Fixed Assets team. This position will support management in all aspects of financial accounting, reporting systems, procedures, and policies which includes performing month end activities that include closing of sub ledgers, general ledger account reconciliations, reporting and balance sheet account analysis.

Successful candidate will also ensure appropriate financial policies, procedures, and internal controls are in place, documented, and operating as intended.

This position will also play an important role in promoting systems/process development within the department to ensure ongoing efficiency and control improvements. The successful candidate will have a strong desire to innovate processes and exceed expectations in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Knowledge & Skills/ Business Acumen/ Education & Experience

  • CA qualification is a requirement
  • Prior experience in Retail or Market Place or Financial Retail Services is recommended
  • Strong interpersonal skills including written and oral communication skills.
  • Zeal towards operational excellence/process improvement & simplifications
  • Excellent knowledge of financial controls and procedures
  • Advanced level Excel and knowledge of SQL will be preferred
  • Experience of Oracle and Blackline Reconciliation tool. Flexible, adaptable, well organized
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma defect reduction techniques (Lean, etc.) preferred
  • Should have strong team skills and Self-motivated, enthusiastic and highly energetic.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience using data to influence business decisions
  • Experience with documenting accounting conclusions, or experience in accounts receivable or account payable
  • Knowledge of standard software including Excel, Access, Oracle, Essbase, SQL and VBA skills
  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results, or experience in multiple finance and accounting roles

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using English communication skills, both written and verbal, to foster seamless interaction with stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
  • Experience using Excel at an advanced level including practical knowledge of VBA/macros and advanced Excel functions
