Financial Analyst

As an Individual Contributor to provide financial management covering the following responsibilities

Month End

• Financial reporting. This includes managing and preparing reports, first line variance analysis and preparing management adjustment journals if required.
• Supporting the financial results of a contract / unit / program for Opex / Capex / Product / Products.
• Support present the financial / management reports and dashboards to the senior finance team
• Maintain and update Costs for their respective contracts, which will be presented in Plan and Build reports for claims Role requires good communication skills as it involves regular interaction with finance teams in GFSS & CFU in case of BDUK contracts
• Support internal and external audit requirements with audit-ready documentation and data traceability
• Perform detailed cost line analysis for Pay, network equipment, Stores, Contractor & Civils ensuring all cost are mapped to structures and claimed correctly and provide evidence requests from BDUK when required in case of BDUK contracts
• Change Requests (CRs) & Scope check Support in case of BDUK contracts
• Ad-hoc work for specific issues that are identified by the finance team.For example, further detailed and deeper analysis of results, problem identification and resolution. This is a significant part of the role

Planning & Forecasting

• Support forecasting for the Contract / business / product area, including understanding of contract delivery, unit costing, gaining market knowledge, identifying trends in the business, identifying price changes/product launches that will allow forecasting of future results

Transformation

• Identifying opportunities to add value to BT's operation. This will include driving efficiencies in the work area to speed up and improve the quality of output, identifying and introducing new quality reports that add benefit to BT, working with other teams in the area to share knowledge and best practice

Controls & Compliance

• Complying with key controls.
• Audit Support
• Maintaining adequate backup and ensure data integrity

Skills & Experience

• Graduate / Postgraduate in Commerce or Professional Finance Qualification (CA/CS/CWA/ MBA)
• Should have 4+ year's relevant experience financial results, preparing month end flash, management reporting, contract accounting
• Should have experience in budgeting & planning
• Interpersonal skills to be able to work within a larger team
• Exposure to visualization tools and ERPs
• Strong Communication and Articulation skills
• Self-driven and able to work independently to resolve issues
• Ability to work accurately to tight timeframes
• Able to identify improvement opportunities and introduce these into the immediate work area and also across the wider team
• Flexibility to work in Shifts
