We are looking for an experienced Finance / FP&A professional to support the Technology Finance and Software Capitalization team. The role will focus on software capitalization, project accounting, financial analysis, monthly close, reconciliations, controls, and stakeholder management. They will work closely with Technology Finance, Controllership, Project Owners, Business Owners, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure software development costs are appropriately reviewed, documented, and accounted for in accordance with internal policies, SOX controls, and applicable accounting guidance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Software Capitalization / Technology Finance process, including project review, capitalization assessment, implementation tracking, impairment review, and documentation.
  • Review software development projects and assess project status, capitalization eligibility, and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain and update project trackers, implementation records, impairment review records, and reconciliation files.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Technology teams, and Business Owners to obtain project updates and resolve missing or incomplete information.
  • Support monthly and quarterly close activities, including journal support, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Prepare variance analysis and provide commentary/input for management reporting.
  • Identify aged, incomplete, inconsistent, or unsupported project balances and drive timely resolution.
  • Support audit requests, SOX controls, and audit-ready documentation.
  • Ensure accounting records and supporting documentation are accurate, complete, and maintained within required timelines.
  • Partner with Technology Finance and Controllership on accounting judgments, project reviews, and capitalization decisions.
  • Perform financial analysis and provide insights to support business and technology investment decisions.
  • Support process improvements and automation initiatives using Excel, AI, Power Automate, or other automation tools.
  • Manage multiple priorities and deadlines, particularly during month-end, quarter-end, and audit cycles.

Business Partnering & Stakeholder Management

This role requires significant interaction with stakeholders across Finance, Technology, Controllership, Project Management, and Business teams.

The candidate should be confident in:

  • Following up with stakeholders to obtain required information.
  • Communicating financial and accounting requirements clearly.
  • Challenging inconsistencies or gaps professionally.
  • Working with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Driving open items and exceptions to closure.
  • Building effective relationships while maintaining a strong finance/control mindset.

Skills & Experience

  • 5–7 years of relevant experience in Finance, Accounting, FP&A, Controllership, Project Accounting, Fixed Assets, or related financial reporting/control processes.
  • Candidates with 4+ years of strong relevant experience may also be considered.
  • Strong knowledge of Accounting and Finance,

including:

  • Capitalization
  • Fixed assets
  • Project accounting
  • Accruals
  • Journal entries
  • Reconciliations
  • Monthly/quarterly close
  • Financial reporting
  • Forecasting and budgeting

  • Strong FP&A and financial business partnering experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial information and identify variances or inconsistencies.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required.
  • Experience with finance/project systems such as Oracle, Hyperion/Smart View, Apptio, Jira or similar platforms is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of financial controls, SOX requirements, audit support, and documentation standards.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a clear control-oriented mindset.

Education / Qualification

  • CA is strongly preferred, including semi-qualified CA candidates.
  • MBA – Finance candidates may also be considered.
  • CMA/CPA or equivalent professional qualifications are an advantage.
