Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Financial Accountant role based in Pune City. The Financial Accountant will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including recording transactions, maintaining the general ledger, and managing accounts payable and receivable. The role involves preparing and reviewing financial statements, coordinating month-end and year-end closings, and ensuring accurate financial reporting in line with applicable standards and internal policies. The individual will monitor budgets, support forecasting activities, and analyze variances to provide insights to management. Additional responsibilities include working with accounting software, ensuring compliance with tax and regulatory requirements, supporting audits, and collaborating with academic and administrative teams on financial matters.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Finance and Financial Reporting, with the ability to interpret and communicate key financial metrics.
- Proficiency in preparing and reviewing Financial Statements and managing the general ledger.
- Hands-on experience with Accounting Software and related financial systems.
- Well-developed Analytical Skills for budgeting, variance analysis, and decision support.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., CA, CPA, CMA) is an advantage.
- Knowledge of relevant accounting standards, taxation basics, and compliance requirements in India.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- Experience in the education, media, or entertainment sector is a plus.
