Financial Accountant

Company: Indian Snack House (ISH)

Location: Chennai

Role: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Bookkeeping

• Own day-to-day accounting operations in Tally.
• Maintain accurate books of accounts, ledgers, and financial records.
• Handle bank, vendor, customer, and payment gateway reconciliations.
• Ensure proper accounting entries, ledger grouping, and expense classification.
• Support monthly book closure and MIS reporting.

2. GST & Tax Compliance

• Handle GST reconciliations and filing of GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, and other applicable returns.
• Strong understanding of TDS provisions, deductions, payments, and return filing.
• Ensure timely statutory compliance and maintain supporting documentation.
• Coordinate with external CAs, auditors, and tax consultants.

3. Financial Operations & Coordination

• Coordinate with vendors, customers, banks, and external finance partners.
• Track receivables, payables, and payment settlements.
• Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies proactively.
• Support financial reporting, audits, and process improvements.

What We're Looking For

• Strong working knowledge of Tally Prime – must-have.
• Practical experience in GST filing, reconciliations, and TDS compliance.
• Good understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
• Strong Excel and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills to independently coordinate with external stakeholders.
• High attention to detail, ownership, and problem-solving ability.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
• A proactive mindset – someone who identifies problems and drives solutions rather than waiting for instructions.
