Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Team Lead Finance to join our growing team. In this senior role, you will play a key part in overseeing statutory filings, ensuring compliance with the Companies Act, income tax, TDS, and GST regulations, as well as preparing and reviewing financial statements. You will also mentor junior associates, manage complex client queries, and contribute to streamlining compliance processes. This position requires a thorough understanding of relevant financial laws, strong analytical abilities, and excellent client management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Served as a key point of contact for high-value clients, offering expert guidance on statutory compliance and financial reporting.
Manage and supervise the preparation and timely filing of statutory forms and returns with regulatory authorities, including ROC, Income Tax Department, and GST authorities.
Interpret and apply the Companies Act, Income Tax Act, GST laws, FEMA Regulations, RBI Guidelines and TDS provisions to client-specific scenarios.
Prepare, review, and finalize financial statements including balance sheets, profit & loss accounts, and cash flow statements in compliance with applicable standards.
Oversee income tax return filing processes and ensure full compliance with relevant tax regulations.
Ensure TDS compliance including deductions, timely payments, quarterly filings, and reconciliation.
Ensure complete GST compliance including return filing (GSTR-1, 3B, 9, etc.), reconciliation, and addressing client queries.
Train and mentor junior compliance associates, assisting in resolving complex compliance and financial issues.
Work closely with internal departments to resolve legal or procedural challenges related to filings and audits.
Maintain updated documentation, trackers, and audit trails for all compliance-related activities.
Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and client experience.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field. (A master's or professional certification like CA Inter/MBA Finance is a plus.)
24 years of relevant experience in finance operations, statutory compliance, and financial reporting.
In-depth knowledge of the Companies Act, income tax provisions, TDS and GST regulations, and Indian financial reporting standards.
Proficiency in accounting software such as Tally, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, or other ERP platforms.
Strong command over MS Excel and other MS Office tools for reporting and analysis.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client and team interactions.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and deliver under tight deadlines.
Proven experience in handling audits, assessments, or regulatory inspections will be an added advantage.
