Role Overview

The Finance Support Specialist will support US-based finance operations from India, handling day-to-day finance and accounting activities such as billing, invoicing, accounts payable, collections, and financial reporting. This role works closely with internal stakeholders, vendors, and clients to ensureaccurate,timely, and compliant financial operations while adhering to company policies and US business requirements.The role requires strong attention to detail, adaptability, and flexibility to work during US business hours.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Support finance-related tasks aligned with US time zones while meeting agreed timelines
  • Prepare and complete client billing and invoicing transactionsin accordance withapplicable policies and procedures
  • Support accounts receivable activities, including cash application, payment tracking, and basic client follow-ups with defined escalation support
  • Perform accounts payable activities such as invoice processing, payment scheduling, and expense payments
  • Prepare detailed financial transaction reports to support royalty invoicing and payments
  • Review staff expense reimbursements and pre-approvals
  • Assistin completingcommission payments, reconciliations, and related reporting
  • Compile detailed billing and expense transactionsand perform basic financial analysis for management reports
  • Document financial operations processes and support process improvement efforts
  • Processes, as well asidentifyand recommend process improvements

Must-Have Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or Business Management
  • 1+ year of experience in accounting or finance operations

Core Knowledge & Skills

  • Familiarity with general accounting and finance principles
  • Foundational knowledge of financial principles, accounting practices, and company-specific processes
  • Basic ability in finance operations such as invoice processing, payment scheduling, cash application, and collections
  • Basic ability to examine financial requirements and interpret financial results
  • Ability to communicate professionally with internal teams, other Milliman practices, vendors, and clients, both written and verbal

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Prior experience supporting US-based or global finance operations
  • Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, or management reporting
  • Familiarity with automation or AI tools, including productivity enhancers (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, AI-assistedreportingor reconciliation tools)
