Role Overview

As the Finance Manager at Wayfair Bangalore TDC, you will lead the controllership and compliance function for the India entity. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, tax and regulatory compliance, and robust internal controls. This role requires a strong background in accounting, tax, stakeholder management capability, and the ability to lead and develop a high-performing finance team.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Reporting & Book Close

  • Own and drive the monthly, quarterly, and annual book-close process in alignment with global reporting timelines and corporate accounting policies.
  • Review month-end closing activities including general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial schedules.
  • Ensure accurate preparation of financial statements in compliance with Indian GAAP and corporate requirements.
  • Prepare and present monthly management reporting decks with key insights for leadership review.

2. Tax Compliance & Audit

  • Act as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for statutory audit, internal audit, IFC/SOX compliance, and ensure timely closure of audit observations.
  • Ensure compliance with all direct and indirect tax regulations (Income Tax, transfer pricing, GST, TDS, etc.) and applicable regulatory filings.
  • Responsible for filing quarterly TDS returns, monthly/annual GST returns, and advance tax computations and payments.
  • Proactively track changes in tax laws and regulatory requirements in coordination with external consultants. ((Income Tax, GST, PF, PT, FEMA, STPI, etc.).
  • Review and strengthen internal controls, ensuring compliance with SOX/IFC frameworks and corporate governance standards.

3. Treasury & Operational Oversight

  • Oversee payroll coordination and ensure timely and compliant salary disbursements.
  • Review and approve employee expense reimbursements in line with company policies.
  • Support the Head of Finance on ad-hoc reporting, compliance matters, and stakeholder requests.
  • Implement finance policies, procedures, and process improvements aligned with global standards.

4. People Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide clear guidance, technical support, and regular feedback to team members to enhance performance and capability.
  • Set performance expectations, conduct periodic reviews, and support career development planning.
  • Ensure strong cross-functional collaboration with Talent, Legal, Operations, and global stakeholders.

We Are a Match If You:

  • Are aQualified Chartered Accountant (7-8 years experience) /Semi Qualified CA (12+ years experience) in Corporate Finance/Controllership, preferably in an MNC or GCC environment.
  • Possess strong knowledge of accounting standards, tax compliance, and regulatory frameworks in India.
  • Have prior experience working with Big 4 auditors and managing statutory/internal audits.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills with the ability to translate financial data into business insights.
  • Have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Exhibit leadership capability with experience managing and developing teams.
