Finance Manager

UpThink is a 20+ year old academic services company serving overseas clients across content development, instructional design, and learning operations.

We are looking for a Chartered Accountant to own the finance function end-to-end.

What you will own

• Full financial control: accounting, reporting, compliance, audit, taxation, treasury
• Unit economics of the business, defined and tracked at the level of individual service lines
• Management dashboards and the metrics that drive decisions, built largely from scratch
• Board reporting, presented directly
• Cash and working capital discipline as a standing responsibility
• Financial modeling for pricing, hiring, and investment decisions

Who you are

• A Chartered Accountant with 4 to 8 years of post-qualification experience
• Someone who reads a P&L and sees the business decision inside it, not just the numbers
• Comfortable being the finance voice in a room of operators, and able to hold your ground
• Energized by building a finance function rather than maintaining one
• A clear communicator who can make financial concepts land with a non-finance audience
• Instinctively disciplined about cash, cost, and working capital

We expect our people to use AI as a genuine multiplier of their own capability. In finance, that means automating the repetitive, building analysis that once took a team, and spending your time on judgment rather than production. You do not need to be a technologist, but you should be genuinely curious about how AI changes the finance function and eager to figure it out for us.
