ROLE OVERVIEW
The Finance Manager will be a senior member of the leadership team, responsible for end-to-end financial management, statutory compliance, reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, and internal controls across Sapaad's entities. This role goes well beyond accounting operations and requires a hands-on leader who can combine strong technical accounting expertise with strategic thinking, stakeholder management, and operational rigor.
The Finance Manager will play a critical role in enabling business growth, supporting cross-border operations, ensuring regulatory compliance (India & overseas), and acting as a trusted advisor to the management team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Financial Accounting & Close Management
- Own and manage the complete accounting lifecycle for all assigned entities (India SEZ / Non-SEZ).
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions in accounting systems (Zoho Books / QuickBooks).
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes with well-documented schedules and reconciliations.
- Review and approve journal entries, accruals, prepayments, provisions, and adjustments.
- Ensure integrity of general ledger, sub-ledgers, and financial statements.
2. Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly and annual, financial statements, and management dashboards.
- Perform variance analysis against budget and forecasts, highlighting risks, opportunities, and corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain KPIs and financial metrics relevant to a SaaS and fintech- enabled business.
- Support management with ad-hoc financial analysis, scenario planning, and decision-support models.
3. Budgeting, Forecasting & Cash Flow Management
- Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting exercises in coordination with department heads.
- Prepare and manage rolling cash flow forecasts (short-term and medium-term).
- Monitor working capital, receivables, payables, and liquidity positions across
- entities.
- Proactively identify cash flow risks and implement mitigation plans.
4. Taxation & Statutory Compliance
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of all statutory returns including GST, TDS, income tax, and other applicable taxes.
- Manage SEZ-related compliance, reporting, and coordination with SEZ authorities.
- Oversee ROC compliances including filings, board resolutions, and statutory
- registers.
- Coordinate with tax advisors to optimize tax positions while remaining fully compliant.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
5. Audit & External Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for statutory auditors, internal auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies.
- Lead statutory audits, tax audits, SEZ audits, and regulatory assessments end-to- end.
- Ensure timely closure of audit observations and implementation of corrective actions.
- Support due diligence exercises related to partnerships, fundraising, or expansions.
6. Controls, Governance & Risk Management
- Design, implement, and continuously improve financial controls, policies, and SOPs.
- Ensure segregation of duties, approval workflows, and compliance with internal control frameworks.
- Identify financial, operational, and compliance risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Drive process automation and efficiency improvements within finance operations.
7. Cross-Functional & Leadership Responsibilities
- Partner with Sales, Operations, HR, and Tech teams to support commercial and operational initiatives.
- Oversee and mentor finance and accounts team members, setting clear goals and development plans.
- Act as a deputy to senior leadership on finance-related matters when required.
- Support contract reviews, pricing models, revenue recognition, and intercompany arrangements.
8. Administrative Oversight (as applicable)
- Oversee finance-related administrative functions including insurance, vendor contracts, and critical office expenses.
- Ensure cost discipline and transparency across administrative spend.
REQUIREMENTS
Mandatory Requirements
- Chartered Accountant (CA) / ACCA / CPA (Qualified preferred).
- 57 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles.
- Prior experience in SaaS, technology, fintech, or services-based companies.
- Strong exposure to multi-entity, multi-currency accounting environments.
- Hands-on experience with Zoho Books and/or QuickBooks.
Technical Skills
- Strong command of accounting standards (Ind AS and IFRS).
- In-depth knowledge of Indian taxation (GST, TDS, income tax) and statutory
- compliances.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (financial models, pivot tables, dashboards).
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow modeling.
