Job Title: Finance Manager
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Finance Manager to lead and oversee end-to-end financial operations, statutory compliance, project accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting. The role requires strong leadership capabilities, analytical expertise, and the ability to drive financial governance, internal controls, and process improvements across the organization.
The Finance Manager will work closely with senior leadership to support financial planning, donor compliance, and sustainable growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Management & Compliance
- Lead end-to-end accounting operations ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Oversee TDS compliance including deduction, payment, returns, and reconciliations.
- Manage GST compliance (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B), reconciliations, and liaison with consultants.
- Ensure statutory compliance and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closure.
- Lead statutory, internal, and donor/project audits and respond to audit queries.
- Ensure adherence to applicable financial regulations and donor guidelines.
- Project & Fund Accounting
- Supervise project-wise accounting, cost tracking, and budget monitoring.
- Ensure accurate allocation of expenses across multiple projects.
- Review and approve project financial reports as per donor/client requirements.
- Monitor fund utilization, advances, and fund balances to ensure compliance.
- Partner with program teams to strengthen financial accountability.
- Financial Planning & Reporting
- Prepare and review monthly MIS, variance analysis, and management reports.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and annual financial planning processes.
- Develop cash flow projections and optimize working capital management.
- Provide financial insights to leadership for strategic decision-making.
- Systems, Controls & Process Improvement
- Oversee accounting records in ERP/Tally or other financial systems.
- Strengthen internal controls and financial governance frameworks.
- Drive process automation and efficiency improvements where possible.
- Ensure proper documentation and financial record management.
- Mentor and guide junior finance team members (if applicable).
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education
- Masters/Bachelor's degree in Commerce / Finance (M.com, B.Com, BBA Finance).
- CA Inter / MBA (Finance) preferred.
Experience
- 610 years of relevant experience in finance and accounts.
- Prior experience in project-based organizations, consulting firms, NGOs, or sustainability-focused organizations is highly preferred.
- Experience managing audits and donor compliance is an advantage.
Technical Skills
- Strong expertise in TDS and GST laws.
- Advanced knowledge of project accounting and fund management.
- Excellent MS Excel skills (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, advanced formulas; Power Query is a plus).
- Proficiency in accounting software (Tally/ERP systems).
