Role Overview

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on tax professional to lead our taxation function in a fast-paced, startup environment. Operating in a hybrid model from Mumbai, you will oversee all tax planning, compliance, and auditing activities. You will act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, ensuring compliance while driving tax-efficient business strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Tax Planning: Design and implement compliant, tax-efficient corporate strategies.
• Compliance & Finalisation: Oversee timely preparation, review, and filing of all tax returns.
• Direct & Indirect Tax: Manage corporate income tax, transfer pricing, and relevant indirect taxes.
• Regulatory Oversight: Monitor changes in tax laws and interpret complex statutory requirements.
• Leadership Advisory: Support cross-functional teams on tax implications for new client initiatives.
• Audit & Relationship Management: Lead statutory tax audits and manage relationships with external advisors.
• Process Excellence: Improve internal tax workflows and build clear documentation for leadership.

What We Are Looking For

• Credentials: Fully qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with 8–10 years of post-qualification experience.
• Startup Mindset: Highly flexible, proactive, and comfortable navigating an agile startup environment.
• Tax Expertise: Deep knowledge of Direct Tax, tax finalisation processes, and regulatory frameworks.
• Global Exposure: Practical experience handling foreign transactions and cross-border tax implications is highly preferred.
• Autonomy: Proven ability to take ownership, drive initiatives, and work effectively with minimal supervision.
