A Finance Manager is responsible for managing financial operations, budgeting, forecasting,financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with regulations and standards. Finance Managersprovide strategic financial guidance to senior management to support decision-making and drive business growth
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement financial plans, budgets, and forecasts to support organizationalgoals and objectives. Analyse financial data, identify trends, and provide insights to seniormanagement for strategic decision-making.
- Reviewing the accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balancesheets, cash flow statements, and variance analyses. Ensure compliance with regulatoryrequirements and accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
- Manage the organization's budgeting process, including budget preparation, monitoring, andvariance analysis. Collaborate with department heads to develop budget plans aligned withbusiness objectives and operational needs.
- Monitor cash flow projections and manage cash balances to ensure liquidity and financialstability. Implement cash management strategies, including optimizing cash flows,managing receivables, and overseeing payables.
- Identify and assess financial risks, including market risk, credit risk, and liquidity risk.Develop risk mitigation strategies and internal controls to safeguard the organization's assetsand financial integrity.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, tax laws, and financial reportingstandards. Coordinate financial audits and examinations by external auditors, tax authorities,and regulatory agencies.
- Evaluate investment opportunities, assess risks and returns, and make recommendations forinvestment decisions. Manage investment portfolios to optimize returns while maintainingappropriate levels of risk.
- Implement and maintain financial systems, processes, and controls to streamline operationsand improve efficiency. Leverage technology solutions for financial reporting, analysis, andforecasting.
- Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute financial strategies alignedwith the organization's long-term goals and objectives. Provide financial insights andrecommendations to support strategic initiatives and business growth.
- Lead and mentor finance team members, providing guidance, coaching, and professionaldevelopment opportunities. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuousimprovement within the finance department.
Requirement:
- Proven experience in financial management, accounting, or FP&A roles, with progressivelyincreasing responsibility
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret financial data andtrends
- Knowledge of financial management systems and software (e.g., ERP systems, financialreporting tools)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complexfinancial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
- Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of building anddeveloping high-performing teams
- Understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards relevant to the industryand jurisdiction.
- Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (Master's degree orCPA/CFA certification preferred)
Experience
- 7 + years of progressive experience in financial management, accounting, or financial planning & analysis (FP&A), with at least 23 years in a leadership or managerial role.
